Terrence Howard Once Arrested For Assaulting Wife

The Smoking Gun dug up a 2001 arrest of actor Terrence Howard. Howard, who is separated from his wife, was arrested for assaulting her when the two were estranged. They reconciled in the interim period but have since split again. They have three children together.

The actor, who co-starred in "Iron Man" and was nominated in 2006 for an Academy Award for his role in "Hustle & Flow," was arrested by Pennsylvania cops in September 2001 for assaulting his estranged wife. According to a Whitemarsh Police Department report, after Howard and Lori McCommas argued on the phone, the actor warned, "Don't disrespect me by hanging up on me or I'll come over and hurt you." McCommas then "hung up and contacted 911 fearing Howard was serious." While McCommas was speaking with a police dispatcher, Howard "showed up at the victim's residence and began breaking the door down." McCommas ran to the rear of the house and into the backyard. Howard then "broke the front door down and ran through the screen door in the kitchen. Howard then grabbed the victim's left arm and punched her twice with a closed fist in the left side of the face."

Howard ended up pleading guilty to disorderly conduct.

Last week Howard came under fire for defending Chris Brown in the Rihanna blow up, which he later took back after claiming he hadn't known the whole story.

I can see how celebritie­s have to develop a talent for riding out unwanted publicity. On some of these sites the article is visible for days. In times like these, I guess if possible they go to an island with no internet, radio or tv so they will not have to read about the 2 cents we put in on their ways that may need an overhaul.

Jay Z comes out strongly in support of Rhianna and anyone
that is a victim of domestic violence while simultaneo­usly chastising
ANYONE that blames the victim or minimizes the seriousnes­s of
domestic violence by saying;

"You have to have compassion for others.
Just imagine it being your sister or mom and
then think about how we should talk about that,"

For which he was roundly criticized and castigated for being a thug and a Social Public Enemy of the worst kind.

Mr Howard makes a statement that seems to wish
Mr Brown and Rhianna the best and also his wishes
that they can work things out.

If Sean Connery had a comment to make in the press about Chris Brown, I'm sure his dirty laundry would be aired, too. If Terrence didn't want his own business put in the street, a simple "no comment" about Chris probably would have done the trick.

Funny that I got called racist because(fo­r family reasons) I am concerned about the high rate of DV and intimate partner murder that black women have to endure.

BUt every group has too high a rate. Even if its just 1 per million that is too high. (adult to child, men to women, women to men, it's all so wrong)

Haha! It's so funny how a lot of men always think the really hot guys are gay. The irony is that this actually says more about the person making the observatio­n than the hottie in question.

So whenever I fawn over some particular­ly sweet piece of eye candy and one of my guy friends says "whatever, he's gay anyway", I've taken to responding by grabbing his arm in mock suprise/ex­citement and saying "Good for you that you can see when another man's hot! Most guys can't tell"
