Angelina, Shiloh And Zahara Go Shopping (PHOTOS)

Angelina Jolie started off the day by taking her two oldest daughter, Zahara and Shiloh, for a quick visit to Lee's Art Shop on 57th Street in New York City.

Each girl left with a basket full of goodies, including some sort of Dora the Explorer figurine and (what looks like) a jar of Play-Doh.

I am always impressed with how subtle Jolie is in addressing negative comments about her/her children/whatever.

So much for any thread on the condition of Z's hair.

Can't these people just move to Europe and disappear? Why is she even doing another movie now?!?!?!! WTH happened to retiring; spending time with the children; being a mother to the children (who seem increasingly out of control by most accounts).

I can*not* wait for this crew to hit their teen years.

It is nice too see people with their kids doing normal stuff like going shopping for stuff with their kids. The Jolie-Pitt brood do a lot of shopping at art stores and regular stores for treats and activities for their kids. All the way from Cheetos to arts and crafts the parents take the kid and interest like any other parent it's just is either rare in that many famous parents do not take their own kids out shopping or the photographers are not following them like the do this family. But the kids seem normal in the hand me downs or just regular clothes not star like all dolled up like Suri is all the time. The whole family is cute and wholesome as they can be when stalked by cameras. I admire them for the charities and the kids their focus has long been on...not too many famous people with money and means to give likethey do to the world.

Because of the photo opportunities she makes available, because she drags them around the world for photo opportunities, because she has money to buy people to look after them while they fly around the world. How do you know?

An indication of how brilliant she is as a mother is observing how she protects her children's sensitive eyes from the paparazzi versus how she protects her own eyes.

While I think the children are beautiful-has anyone ever seen a picture or film anywhere where Zahara is smiling or laughing? From the photos I've seen the poor child seems miserable.

They are probably wonderful parents, and I think their intentions are completely honorable, but they could do more good by funding orphanages than by trying to run what amounts to their own orphanage. Why not spend more of their time making money in the movie business, and funnel the extra millions earned to help hundreds of thousands of orphans, instead of a dozen or so. There are millions of orphans in the war-torn areas of the world, two million in Afghanistan alone; at least 50% of those are reported to be without sufficient heating or food, completely without formal education, and a large percentage are also handicapped from war-related injuries.

What Angelina and Brad are doing is admirable, but at some point they could decide to use their talents to act upon a larger stage, the way Barack and Michelle did.

They do fund orphanages and children's hospitals - just have a look around the internet and it's all there for anyone to see - especially in the countries where the adopted children came from. And this is also not to mention their involvement in the housing project in New Orleans and the fact that Angelina, as an embassador for UNESCO - if I'm not mistaken - just came back (ironically, of all places) from Afghanistan, as reported by the world section of the Huff a week or so ago.

But mainly, they are also perfectly entitled (and seem good at) have a large family. Just because most people nowadays couldn't contemplate having more than one or two children, it doesn't mean others don't see it as their greatest source of hapiness - especially when they have the resources to accomplish it.

It's like taking the kids to the zoo. They get to see all those paparazzi type animals with cameras sticking out of their heads pushing each other around. Highly entertaining for little children..
