Burris

Chicago Sun-Times:

U.S. Sen. Roland Burris had more contacts with then-Gov. Rod Blagojevich's chief of staff before being appointed to his Senate seat than he disclosed in his most recent affidavit, phone records and interviews show.

One of the calls to John Harris came Nov. 13, the day Burris discussed the possibility of raising money for the governor with Blagojevich's brother Robert, according to phone records obtained by the Sun-Times and sources. That call was likely caught on an FBI wiretap.

All told, Burris called Harris, who resigned after he was criminally charged Dec. 9, four times in the weeks following the Nov. 4 election and appears to have spoken to Harris on Nov. 26, phone records show.

You are judged by the company you keep. And he has obviously kept company in some really low places. Time to join the other vermin in whatever dark place they stay, and leave DC.

When you lie, you need to remember the lie you told earlier! He obviously can't remember what lie he told let alone who he told it to. I had feeling he was going "F-Up" somewhere it just happened sooner than i thought.

Your greed to move up to national office was more important than your integrity. Step down before you are forced to.

He doesn't have the capibility to weave a web of lies and keep track of them. Every time he opens his mouth, he pushes both feet further in to where now they've come out is a.r.s.e. hole

Burris is in real trouble now. He has told too many half-truths.....is guilty of lying by omission. This will not end well for Burris.

Will someone tell this little jerk he's busted and the more he lies the worse it's going to be for him.

The guy is a freakin' Pinocchio -- he can't stop lying.

Burris' multiple affidavits have turned into a moving target of semi truths. I think the moving target will hit a wall when Fitzpatrick/FBI starts playing tapes during Blago's criminal trial. Burris only started this moving target debacle after he was contacted by Fitzpatrick/FBI apparently regarding his multiple conversations with Blago's staff and brother.

Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner was confirmed after revealing he had tax troubles.

_Obama's initial choice for commerce secretary, Bill Richardson, stepped aside due to a grand jury investigation into a state contract awarded to his political donors.

_While the Senate voted overwhelmingly to confirm William Lynn as deputy defense secretary, Obama had to waive his ethics regulations to place the former defense lobbyist in charge of day-to-day operations at the Pentagon.

The No. 2 Senate Democrat, Richard Durbin of Illinois, expressed his anger about the Burris case Wednesday while he was on an official visit to Greece.

"I do believe that the public statements made by Mr. Burris to this point have raised questions ... as to the nature of his relationship with the former governor and the circumstances surrounding his appointment," Durbin said.

Reid said in Nevada, "Now there's some question as to whether or not he told the truth."

Where to go next? Reid had no answer.

I guess they have set a new standard for ethical behavior. The bar is very low.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Obama administration and the new Congress are quickly handing over to Republicans the same "culture of corruption" issue that Democrats used so effectively against the GOP before coming to power.

The chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, Rep. Charles Rangel, D-N.Y., is the subject of a House ethics investigation. It's partly focused on his fundraising practices for a college center in his name, his ownership financing of a resort property in the Dominican Republic and his financial disclosure reports.

_Federal agents raided two Pennsylvania defense contractors that were provided millions of dollars in federal funding by Rep. John Murtha, D-Pa., chairman of the House Appropriations defense subcommittee.

_Blagojevich was arrested Dec. 9 on federal charges, including allegations he schemed to sell the Senate seat to the highest bidder.

_Tom Daschle, the former Senate majority leader from South Dakota, abandoned his bid to become health and human services secretary and the administration's point man on reforming health care; and Nancy Killefer stepped down from

This just in, The pastors are now asking him to resign. Roland, you are done. I'm sorry you chose to allow Blago to destroy your reputation for a Senate seat. Back in the day, you had a sterling rep.

Saw him on TV yesterday and I don't know how I feel about a Senator who yells "YA'LL KNOW ME!!" (among other complaints)

I found the statement that they're his friends. I would have stood up and said "Don't think so. You assume too much"

Please, just quit so the governor can appoint Jan Schakowsky.

Hey now...check this out...what was needed was another Dem vote for the Spendulus Bill...The Dems knew all the time Burris would not last long and they will get who BHO wants...Burris will go soon and Emanuel's choice (read BHO's choice) will be appointed by the new Gov who is eager to play ball with the Chicago political machine to which all of the favorites belong....hey folks, I know we wanted change but there is no such thing in politics, except ideology. The political stuff is all the same, it is just in a new package. I know all of the campaign promises that were broken in the fist month can be rationalized but time to get real when it comes to Chicago politics...it is hardball.

Stop acting like you ever support President Obama -- we know you're hoping for his failure, so you can say, "I told you so!" You don't care that it means that America will fail, you just want to be right!!!

Too bad you're wrong!
