Oscars Best-Dressed Pictures (PHOTOS)

In keeping with the times, simplicity stole the show on Sunday night's Oscars ceremony. Here are the women who wore their dresses, and didn't let their dresses wear them. Note the minimalist approach to jewelry this year: the most elegant women wore one statement-making piece (see Angelina Jolie's emerald earrings) or, as in Beyonce's case, no jewelry at all.

My thanks go to the photographers who capture the beauty of these women to such a degree that we can be one with them. I love to capture the essence of women on film and appreciate the efforts of these ladies to shine for us. Just beautiful.

Beyone FINALLY wears her clothing line 2 an event! But it looks like curtain drapes.
AnJolie s dress is very boring.
Tilda Swinton doesnt care about fashion & awards, she is an actress for the craft. I appreciate that very much.

Beyonce chooses clothes that look good on her.... That's what fashionable women do. The clothes don't have to look good on the average woman or please everybody. Why would she wear a gown that looks good on, for example......Penelope Cruz? Let Penelope wear it! Beyonce also dresses with variety and style, even casually, and is ALWAYS sexy.

Beyonce tries too hard 90% of the time and, most times, her clothes look a size too small. Other than that, I think she's a really talented singer.

Beyonce's dress looked wonderful against her gorgeous skin and curves. Such a dramatic dress was a great choice for her -- only a few women could carry it off. The bold print was contrasted with a simple hair style, makeup and minimal jewelry. She has a great fashion sense...tasteful, womanly, sexy. Next to all the monotones of the night, she was a fabulous standout....as usual.

I agree. I liked Beyonce's dress the best. Every award ceremony shows some starlett in the monochromatic color of the period, which must be shocking to fashionistas who have been judging the solid patterns for much too long.

Finally, we get change, to include the fashion industry.

Stop hating on the mermaid dress....I love it and it fits B to a T.
