It was HER appointmet that led to the Governor's sharpe drop in popularity. Neither of them deserved the office they currently hold, and will not be elected to continue it.

She should be worried. As a NYer I can tell you she will never survive the primaries much less the general election. Patterson is a loser. They will both go down in the next election.

That's what will give the Repos a pretty good chance
to win both the NY governor's seat & one NY senator
next year. Good luck with that.

Actually, maybe even the Trifecta, since Sen
Schumer also runs next year. Sacré bleu, eh?

Not too many years ago, the political makeup in NY consisted of 4 major
parties: Demo, Repo, Liberal & Conservative. The Liberals usually were
allied with the the Demos, and the Conservatives with the Repos. Usually,
but not always, which makes for some interesting elections. Sometimes
the 'progressive' candidate runs as both a Liberal & a Republican, if you
can believe that. (True! I swear!) Usually the Liberals & Demos nominate
the same slate, as do the the Conservatives & Repos, but not always.
Now there's yet another party, Working Families, which is center-left &
no doubt makes NY politics even *more* interesting & complicated.

What's happened in recent memory, after RFK, was that the Conservatives
elected their own man to the Senate, against progressive Repo & Demo
candidates, the reverberations of which lead to the emergence of Al D'Amato,
I think. So, NY people, you may want to think this through carefully.

The demographics of Upstate vs Downstate, Rural vs Urban, Reactionary
Vs Radical, etc. make for very 'interesting' elections, often with surprising
results. No one group hardly ever gains a proper majority.

There was a fix against Kennedy. She knows too much, and nobody wanted to take the chance of her having some vendetta. The Clintons don't like her.

According to the article, she's concerned because Paterson's ratings are so low.

If she need to count on Paterson at election time, she doesn't belong in the job anyway.

She's there to work FOR HER CONSTITUENTS, not Paterson.

Do a good job, get reelected. Work for Paterson, don't get reelected. Duh!

i damn sure am NOT voting for her and i am a BROOKLYN big D democrat. i have been telling everyone i know not to vote for her when the time comes and i cannot wait to campaign for her opponent in the primary. i will especially not vote for her now that bubba and his wife are for her. that was truly the proverbial nail in the coffin!

WOW a for real version of Charlton Heston. Hmm I wonder if she channels him. I put her right up there with Palin and the exorcist Bobby Jindal.

Why is she not speaking out for the global right of people to bear arms? how about some UN money for coupons that can be redeemed for a hand gun and a couple boxes of ammo? Do not the people of the world have the right to protect themselves from unwarranted attack?

Her only chance is to cross the floor and join the GOP.

Mayor Bloomberg and Rudy Giuliani are not Democrats. New York has also had quite a few Republican governors in my lifetime and Kirsten's pal Al D'Amato as senator. The Republican Party is no less healthy in NY than anywhere else. There are just fewer social conservatives in NY who would vote for a puppy as long as they were told it was for guns and against abortion.

I dislike both Paterson and Gillibrand. Hope they both lose. Gillibrand can go join the GOP ticket since she is anti-immigration and pro-guns.

I can hear Hillary saying it now, "SHAME ON YOU DAVID PATERSON".
