Bobby Jindal Or Kenneth From 30 Rock?

First Posted: 03/27/09 06:12 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 02:05 PM ET

If it wasn't such a dead-on comparison it would be catty to say out loud...but there's no denying it: Bobby Jindal was totally channeling Kenneth The Page from NBC's 30 Rock tonight. (With maybe a touch of "Moviefone guy.")

Seriously, it's uncanny. Close your eyes and see if you can detect any specific difference between Jindal's opening paragraphs...

...and this special web-extra from 30 Rock, featuring Kenneth.

[WATCH.]

HILARIOUS FUN FACT: Some people think Bobby Jindal should run for PRESIDENT and stuff!

Jason, You are spot on with the Kenneth the Page comment about Jindal. Another aspect to his demise (among many) was his (or his media consultant's) descision to deliver the whole speech into one camera, from one teleprompter. I've discussed this matter on my blog and would welcome your comment.

I started watching the Jindal speech from the other day, and i immediately started to think of Kenneth from 30 Rock. Completely hilarious, glad i'm not alone thinking its dead on for Kenneth.

Unfortunately Jindal reminded me of Al "the planet has a fever" Gore. It was once said that George Bush talks like a kindergartner but Al Gore talks like you're a kindergartner. Somebody gave Jindal some really bad advice.

And Gore doesn't even talk like that anymore. If he had spoken the way he speaks now back in 1999, I believe he would've certainly won, and the thought of what could have been is making me want to smash my face into my keyboard.

i think he spoke to the republican base quite well. That's how they think. The same idiots at work who aren't certain Obama is a natural born citizen think Bobby was bang on. Good luck with that.

ok, so since 30 rock and snl are kinna sorta run by the same network, and lorne michaels is kinna sorta in charge, he could always actually get kenneth the page to do bobby jindal. i think he has some influence there. it would be an instant classic.

Jindall does bear a striking resemblance to a certain character on 30 Rock...

Kenneth the Page and Bobby Jindal...twins separated at birth. Just when I think the Repubs can't get any more ridiculous, they do! :-D

Where was the play-dough and coloring book. One thing you have to admit, he did have a good substinative plan.

That's some disjointed thinking there.

Just like your (former) leader, you seem to be incapable of conveying a coherent thought. Leave now.

He sounds like he was speaking to a group of 5 year olds.

And it seems both of them are channeling a little bit of Johnny Cab from Total Recall:

Governor Jindals speech was offensive. He treats the American public as if they are first graders who have to have every little thing spelled out to them. Not so ... the majority prevailed in saying it's time to get an honest to goodness well-educated and intelligent man back in the White House - what makes Governor Jindal think that getting on national television and talking down to people is going to make us think that he's a great man?
04:20 PM on 02/25/2009
It is SOP for all politicians, including the President, to assume all Americans are First Graders.
Do you think the President, reciting alternately every two seconds from his left teleprompter and two seconds from his right teleprompter is going to make people believe he is a great orator?
