I Like ItI Don’t Like It

The Daily Show's Jason Jones took a hilarious and frightening look at two religious leaders who think President Obama is either Hitler or the Anti-Christ.

Reverend Daniel W. Blair, a Baptist minister whose likes include, "seeing people snatched from the fire of eternal damnation and transformed by the love and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ," thinks Obama is "The Beast" who will usher in the end times. Pastor James David Manning, on the other hand, thinks the President is Hitler. (And also a bisexual...or bicycle.)

The key part of the the segment, though, is the main stream media's coverage of these men and their "theories." Sean Hannity even invited Manning on his show to discuss his Hitler comparison.

Luckily Jones deflates both men skillfully with only a couple references to Ashton Kutcher, "The Usual Suspects," and "Howdie Do It."

Response to my interview on the Daily Show

If you have arrived here because of the unfortunate interview on the Daily Show then please take a moment and read my response. What you saw was over four hours of an interview sliced and diced (they called it editing) with a complete re-interpretation of my original statement for the cause of Christ.

I never said that President Obama was the Antichrist. I did say, however, that he has demonstrated some characteristics of the Antichrist (or the Beast) that will come upon the scene in the last days prior to Christ’s Second Coming in glory.

Perhaps I should not be concerned that the Daily Show tried to make me look like an idiot, but I am saddened that the cause of Christ is damaged for their ratings. Furthermore, the whole point of the interview was entirely missed where I emphatically articulated that Obama is leading the entire population to trust in self and his ability to build the perfect society – “Yes we can.” Whereas Jesus Christ is the only One who can bring peace and salvation to the world. Anyone who leads you away from trusting in Christ Jesus exclusively is an Antichrist.

The "cause of Christ?" You have defamed our President because he is charismatic? You have not only defamed our president, you have insulted the people who elected him (the majority of Americans). We have been leaderless for the past 8 years and are hurting miserably because of it. Please stay in your realm and let the man run the country. (BTW - are you concerned that millions of adolescents pour adoration on the Jonas brothers? - the concept is the same).

That was very scary. The thought processes of these so-called spiritual leaders is very alarming. To be a part of a faith that preaches against passing judgment on others they appear to be totally devoid of this concept. I find that that is often the case in the extremist sects of many religions.

Nothing that happened during the past 8 years was Bush's fault, but everything that doesn't go right for Obama will be because he is the anti-Christ or Hitler. It's funny as long as no one goes along with this.

These are just two guys. What about the many who believe this? They're out there and that is scary. My brother is one of them. You can't talk to people like this, either. They see what they want to see.

LOL this was really funny with the Usual Suspects ending. That Baptist pastor's church should be empty.

David Manning from New York is CRAZY and by Hannity interviewing him let you know the type of person Sean Hannity is.
Manning even has members of his crazy church.

The line between comedy/satire and the reality of these people has never been more blurry.
