Sanford Implies Rush Limbaugh Is An "Idiot"

Sanford And Limbaugh

ThinkProgress flags this line from an interview Real Clear Politics did with Republican Governor Mark Sanford of South Carolina in which he calls Rush Limbaugh an idiot, albeit indirectly. Asked for his reaction to the idea that some conservatives, most notably Limbaugh, are hoping that Obama's presidency fails, Sanford replies (bold font is mine):

I don't want him to fail. Anybody who wants him to fail is an idiot, because it means we're all in trouble. But I do think, in that same vein, if you've looked at the pages of history, if you've looked at the pages of economic data that I've looked at over a long period of time -- I've got a masters in business from the University of Virginia, I've worked up in New York in finance -- if you've looked at that kind of stuff and you legitimately think that something ain't going to work, you'd be cheating him and cheating yourself if you didn't lay it out and call an ace an ace in terms of where you're coming from.

Sanford makes the distinction between legitimately believing a plan is not going to work and explaining your reasons why, and just openly rooting for a presidency to fail, as Limbaugh has, no matter what the cost to the nation.

Rush is having such a hard time recognizing that his precious Reagonomics has failed, that he wants others to fail too. The GOP ship has shifted so far to the right, it has tipped over and is sinking fast.

It appears Limbaugh is angry, and depressed. His party is "kaput".
What happens to someone angry, and depressed?
Some gorge themselves with enormous amounts of food.
It appears "Rotund Rush"falls in that category.
Some exhibit distorted, delusional behavior.
Yep, check that box a 'yes', also.
Some experience "Allusions of the Grandeur".Bingo!
I give you..."The world, according to Rush". Pretty sad.

We all know what opinions amount to, everyone has one.

So Sanford has worked in New York in finance, not exactly something to brag about these days.

We still have "freedom of speech" in this country don't we.

Why can some people say whatever and not get criticized.

Seems like the criticism comes when the other person doesn't happen to agree
with the comments Limbaugh makes. (as well as other people)

Get a grip .... everybody has a right to their own opinion...
Like it or not.

We liberals knew that Sanford long time ago.

Why beat around the Bush? Instead of implying something just say this:

"Like so many other advisors in this Country, Limbaugh is over paid and under educated!"

Finally, that's the smartest thing I've heard from a Republican in a long time.

Rush is very hard to take...I stopped listening to him a long time ago. He rants, raves and is very, very frustrated to see his marketshare drop! I truthfully feel that the way he handled himself on the airwaves during the campaign helped get President Obama elected. The Republican party needs to make him shutup!!

I only listen to Limbaugh when I am in the bathroom; that way I can flush his remarks with the rest of the waste.

Why imply it when you can just come out and say it.....Limbaugh is an id.iot. Of course, this isn't exactly breaking news, is it?

The governor of South Carolina says: "...you'd be cheating him and cheating yourself if you didn't lay it out and call an ace an ace ..."
Whew! At least he didn't say "call a spade a spade."
But then - have you EVER heard the phrase "call an ace an ace" before?
Good thing his PCdar was up.

I have never heard the phrase "call an ace an ace".

I haven't either, but my first thought was he must think Obama is tops!

I have heard that Rush Limbaugh is the Uncle of the Censor on this blog thread,,,, and I am confident that it is true. The Censor here is ruining Huffpo!
