School Board Votes To Close 16 Schools Despite Vocal Opposition

The Chicago Board of Education voted unanimously to close or reorganize 16 struggling schools. The changes will start taking effect in September with the beginning of the next school year.

Earlier, dozens of parents, teachers and students spoke out today against proposed closings.
