Michele Bachmann Tells Michael Steele: "You Be Da Man!"

Bachmann Steele

After a long day at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, Republican National Committee chairman Michael Steele gave a speech asserting that the party is "alive and well."

Although he emphasized that the conservative movement must become a revolution and transform America, he conceded that the party had made mistakes: "We know the past, we know we did wrong. My bad. But we go forward in appreciation of the values that brought us to this point."

According to CNN, Steele was then praised by Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann.

As Steele concluded his remarks, Minnesota Rep. Michelle Bachmann -- the event's moderator -- told Steele he was "da man."

"Michael Steele! You be da man! You be da man," she said.

Don't EVER let someone from Minnesota try to talk black! Their minorities are native Americans. How about "you da Kemosabe?"

Wow. "My Bad." Look what you're "My Bad" has done to this country. A decimated economy, home foreclosures, bankruptcies, expensive wars, the spread of ill-will throughout the world, a war resulting in thousands of our best men and women killed, and even more thousands wounded. Yeah, thanks Mr. "You Da Man."

I'd like to think that this whole "hip-hop setting" thing is helping the party, but I don't think it is.
Come on, I used to think that Michael Steele was smarter than this.

Any day now, some conservative is going to bite the head off a live rat on nationwide TV and Rush Limbaugh is going to denounce any Republican who criticizes the act.

Hey, how can Lady Mich wear sleeveless dresses without complaint from anyone when Michelle Obama, who is not even an elected official, is being criticized for doing the same thing. I think it's fine for both ladies, but definitely think the look is more flattering to the First Lady.

Michele just recently completed Part 1 of Rosetta Stone's new Jive CD-Rom. It guarantees that you'll be able to speak Jive in weeks, and now that the RNC has a new black chairman, Michele is thrilled -- that $325 was money well spent.

BTW, the Rosetta Stone course is taught by Barbara Billingsley, who so expertly demonstrated her proficiency at Jive in the 1980 film Airplane!

Maybe, to be more "urban" the GOP has handed out a printed copies of the Urban Dictionary to all of it's members. Bachman's been learning the lingo but (1) didn't quite get "you da man" right, she just couldn't be ghetto enough and had to add "be" in there, and (2) she hadn't realised it's an outdated phrase.

She wouldn't know "da' Man" if he stood in front of her. Listening to her say "You're the man" was about the worst attempt at a phrase I've ever heard. I do it better than that and I'm a white, 63 year old woman....geesh, she was an embarassment to me....can't imagine how it hit the kids.
