Rachael Ray To Return To SXSW

NEW YORK — Rachael Ray is bringing more music and mojitos to the South by Southwest Music and Media Conference this year.

The TV talk show host and foodie put on one of the most popular showcases when she made her debut at the massive festival last March.

This year, she's signed up the Hold Steady, the New York Dolls, Ra Ra Riot and other bands to perform for her music- and food-filled bash on March 21.

Ray says she hopes to "blow the doors off Austin again."

The South by Southwest music festival runs from March 18 to 22.

My daughter was a photographer for The Chronicle when SXSW was real. She says that she doesn't recognize it now. It WAS fun back then.

SXSW was too rich for my pay grade when I lived in there. Austin City Limits was more my speed.

SXSW is Corparate American now- with Texas being the Home of Big Business as 32 major corps moved here for taxes are less than Cali, and New York- ( industry connectivities)

As for Rachel Ray- she has not appeal to me- I do like other personalities on Food Network though

I remember when SXSW was truly and indie event and out of the mainstream labels influence. Bloodshot Records, Checkered Past, Touch and Go, good times long gone.

Bloodshot will still be there. They're having the big day party at Yard Dog, and a night time showcase at Red Eyed Fly.

I love Rachel Ray ... Her 30 min meals make my dinner table interesting since we can no longer afford to eat out anymore I have to come up with something new everyday so I don't hear the whining its chicken again!!!!
