Jennifer Lopez And Marc Anthony Sue Over Baby Carriage Ad

LOS ANGELES — Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony have filed a federal lawsuit against the makers of high-end baby carriages over the unauthorized use of their images.

The couple filed the suit Wednesday in U.S. District Court against Silver Cross, saying use of their images on the Silver Cross Web site to market the carriages has caused irreparable damage to both Lopez's and Anthony's public images. They also maintain there's harm to Lopez's production company as well as her product and apparel lines.

The couple believe they have suffered in excess of $5 million, which they are seeking in addition to both a preliminary and permanent injunction against Silver Cross.

After-hours phone calls seeking comment went unreturned.

It's true that Silver Cross should not have used their picture without permission...but how in the hell does this irreparably damage their images? The fact that they are asking for $5 million in damages is just obscene. They should get a life.

They posed in People Magazine, each pushing a Silver Cross pram. Now, I can understand getting upset that the image was redistributed on the Silver Cross website without permission. BUT... as for "irreparable damage"… they didn’t seem to mind when the same photo was in People.

I remember when I lived in Seattle, she bought a house in Que.en Anne (a local district, for those who don't know the area).
