I think Newsom or Feinstein would be GREAT but what about Maria Shriver for Gov? She's got the pedigree, smarts, connections and can get Arnold to help clean up his own mess!
A couple of thoughts. Her leadership, though not always perfect, in the Senate is needed and would be missed. I think between Brown and Villaraigosa, either would be strong enough to carry the state and secure another governorship. Besides, here we'd go again with another appointment to a vacated Senate seat. Feinstein would have to maintain her seat, I believe, right through the election to insure control over the appointment. Stating ahead of time that some sort of election would be used to fill the seat might help, but where would the money come from for that?
How about this idea. During the election, have replacements on the ballot on the contingency of her winning? Too outside the box, maybe?
That's cool. Whatever it takes to get her out of national office. She has too much pull as a senator.
Why not get some new person in there, why always choosing from the same old pool with the same
old results?
I am so sick of California having repub Govs. DiFi is probably more conservative than Arnold, who is way worse than Grey Davis. Poor us in cali. Let's talk about Gavin Newsome for Governor.
Sorry, but for those of us that don't live CA this is a harm reduction measure.
Anything that gets her out of the senate is fine by me. Just be careful she doesn't send the California National Guard to join in the next time Gaza gets flattened.
Excuse me? I know you are not referring to me. LOL... you couldn't be.
There are stupid people everywhere.
I would love Gavin Newsome myself.
For the life of me I don't understand how California can still like DiFi. She has been a DINO for as long as I can remember. But, then, they did elect Arnold twice, so there's no guessing what they will do.
I'm from CA and let me tell you those vote for Arnold came from SoCAL. I am from the Bay Area...no one likes Arnold in the Bay Area.
i lived in the bay area for 20 years and no one liked difi in the bay area either-we kinda just voted for her for lack of any better option.
Everyone voted for Arnold except for a few counties on the coast, in the middle of the state. It wasn't just SoCal, it was Northern California and all the counties inland.
You failed to count the central valley....
That's the best they can do? Seriously?
As war profiteers that sent other people's kids to war in wars that were based on treasonous acts by our own government go ,she would certainly be right up there on top.
Feinstein as Governor? The Senates gain would be California loss. But then, how much worse off can they really get?
I'm afraid it is. Of course, I thought Jerry Brown and Gavin Newsom were also running in this. Feinstein always seems to win by default. Walk from one side of San Francisco to the other, talking to residents as you go. You'll not find anyone who doesn't think Feinstein isn't a closet Repub. Of course, you'll also not find anyone who does anything about it.
