This is so bad, the photos... OMG...
You can guess there was a subcommittee attached to an ad-hoc focus group that slaved over every detail of those photos. And this is what they release? This looks worse than a drunk Frat Rat, having some narcissistic fantasy with himself.
It so bad..... maybe the guy has some acting abilities but this is ... what is the word, humiliating doesn't even begin to describe it.

This is so bad it's comical. The games were great and had some decent potential for movies, but this is the worst miscasting I've seen in a while.

Even if they didn't cast an actual persian, they couldn't find someone who at least looks closer than a pasty white boy? Why not Naveen Andrews or Sendhil Ramamurthy?

Apparently Hollywood didn't learn anything from Colin Ferrel as Alexander the Great. And how many blue-eyed white guys have played Jesus anyway? Jake was hot in Jarhead (bad Marine recruiting propaganda movie tho), but this just looks silly. What's next Zack Ephron as Genghis Khan?

Islamization of Iran only started in the VII th century; all the famous princes such as Xerxes, Cyrus and Darius - who no doubt inspired the video game - predated that period.

They weren't Muslims; they were probably Zoroastrians.

For the "pseudo-history nuts" thinking Gyllenhaal is a "perfect" choice for a persian role.

-One important social and POLITICAL consequence of modern processes of "racialization" is - some old racial categories such as "Caucasian Race", "white", "black", remain highly SALIENT to the politics of racialized inequality, particularly in the UNITED STATES. In this regard, we need to understand the history of the "caucasian race" idea as part of the larger history of WHITE SUPREMACISM, racism, and white racialized identity. The "caucasian race" category has been integrally "linked" with what Ruth Frankenburg calls the "co-constitution of whiteness and racial domination" ---that is, the way in which the history of modern racist domination has been "bound up" with the history of how European peoples defined themselves (and sometimes some other peoples) as members of a superior "white race".
Racial Classifications, as we have seen, were first "developed" by EUROPEAN scientists and philosophers such as Bernier, Linnaeus, Kant, and Blumenbach, who called themselves "white" people and DESCRIBED whites as the "superior race".
WHEN THE "SCIENCES OF RACE" initially developed, European ethnologists were imbued with notions of European "racial" and CIVILIZATIONAL SUPERIORITY. In this context, the "caucasian race" idea placed the "authority of science" behind a hierarchical racial ranking of "white" and "non-white" peoples that RATIONALIZED GLOBAL WHITE SUPREMACISM.

He's hot, but I'd still prefer an actual Persian actor to play a "Prince of Persia."

George Orwell said " He who controls the past, controls the future".

-Moreover, the history of the “Caucasian race” idea reveals that racial-
ized power is exercised NOT ONLY where dominant racialized groups
expressly subordinate other racialized groups or ACT to PERPETUATE
existing racialized inequalities, it also has been manifest in the study of
“race” itself. The “sciences of race” were NEVER merely a neutral way to
“describe the world”. They have ALWAYS been a form of “knowledge-as-
power”, if not “knowledge-as-domination”.

By “inventing” the “race concept”, European elites discovered a way to understand
and “control” other groups of humans.

Yes, he's HOT. I can't say I'm likely to spend $10 to see it in the theater, but I would watch it on cable(with the sound turned down if need be).

Very nice pics indeed, at least if I ignore the long hair and in-need-of-a-trim eyebrows. Good chest development and flat abs. Yum.
