Jon Stewart Wrecks Jim Cramer

(SCROLL FOR VIDEO)

After Tuesday night's "Daily Show," Jim Cramer just may be regretting his sarcastic response - "A comedian's attacking me! Wow! He runs a variety show!" - to Jon Stewart's criticism.

Almost as biting as his original video montage critique of CNBC, Stewart unleashed an epic attack on Cramer and the whole NBC family for using their various networks as a platform for Cramer's rebuttal.

Stewart repeatedly showed Cramer making absurd and ridiculous noises while hosting his show, "Mad Money," highlighting the remarkable similarities between the program and a wacky variety show.

Noting the awkwardness of Cramer's appearance on "The Today Show," where he watched Stewart's attack on his credibility, Stewart deadpanned that "it put a human face on my mocking, and gave me a sense of the damage I had done to a real person... It'd be like him having to watch me as his Bear Stearns advice wiped out my parents' 401(k)."

To reiterate his point, Stewart pretended to vomit as a TV clip showing plummeting Bear Stearns stock played in the split screen.

Stewart then turned to MSNBC, where he introduced Cramer's appearance on "Morning Joe" by saying "I like my news like I like my coffee, white and bitter." Stewart defended himself against Scarborough's accusation that Stewart's act consists of "he's just going to sit there and cherry-pick over the past eight years every mistake people make." Nodding his head, Stewart said, "Yes, because that is what we do."

However, what really seemed to get Stewart is what he claimed to be the shock of realizing that "if I picked on CNBC, Cramer would take it personally and get the whole NBC family involved. Don't mess with the Peacocks!"

Stewart turned to his own, rather messy, parent company by featuring characters such as Nickolodeon's "Dora the Explorer" uttering the Spanish curse word, "pendejo," and by turning to Lauren and Heidi from MTV's "The Hills" for comfort in a sketch that really just needs to be seen.

I've always liked Jon, but my respect for his intelect and CJ's went up a million per cent for putting his finger right smack in the middle of the boil / wound and pressing down hard by saying what has been in a lot of people's minds in this country.
Jon has stepped up to the level of the ordinary guy's icon with this confrontation with that sleeze ball Cramer.
There are many Cramers in and out of Wall Street; somehow they must be contained or the game is OVER.

Touche! All perps and accomplices must be called out now. There are only two scenarios for every one of these people - negligence or criminal activity (and criminal negligence). Our current administration can support reregulating market information (aka "truth in advertising"). The will for enforcement IS the will of the people. The DOJ will be busy for eight long years with what's in hand even now. Anyone who stands in the way needs to be removed from any position of responsibility. No matter what happens, I'm just sick to my stomach, apart from the partial cure (the political R&D) for this plague that we've just recently voted in to office. I only hope that our popularly elected and supported President and the useful people in Congress won't hold back from their patriotic duty at this moment of truth. This extreme level of fraud and treason has to be the highest since the Civil War and the original era of the Robber Barrons. There is clearly a lot more work to do in the 2010 mid-term Election!

This was brilliant. I am a Brit and so envy you having someone as brilliantly funny and incisive as Stewart - the world needs this man! I have a question though. I have only seen the bit that was aired - I have windows XP so cannot download Flash Player 10 (dont know why but cant) is there anywhere on the web anyone knows of you can see this video without flash player 10 - would love to see the whole uneddited showdown.

Hate? I gathered nothing but a well thought out roast that was very deserving. You can't seriously tell me your not informed on basic financial areas. 401k where NOT a choice for many of us, we HAD to take it or nothing over what companies offered and had NO control over how it was being invested. These guys stole and robbed, I've been waiting for indictments the first time the story broke over banks crashing.

Please, educate yourself on the system: Watch NBC House of Cards on the credit scam and how America was conned under the subprime mortgage candy and how predatory lenders LIED about peoples credit rating and Approved it!

Jon Stewart turned over a rock. Try to remember the last time any network news organization broke a hard news story? We no longer have a functioning print Media doing investigative journalism. Do they have any actual investigative journalists at CNBC? We do have a love fest parade every morning on CNBC and other networks, none of it worth watching. They accomplish nothing just make no enemies keeping the front office fat and happy. Some of you at CNBC and other networks need to take early retirement. Now for those stalwart alert watch dogs at the SEC, some need to be retired to the "Old Gray Bar Hotel" courtesy of “Uncle Sam”. Rick Santeli how dare you attempt to lay blame on mortgage holders for creating this problem. The greedy bankers/brokers never exercised "Due Diligence" is that not what they should have been doing. They did their duty to themselves servicing their own greed and personal gain. Banks don’t just hand mortgages to any one without reviewing their documents, well maybe they do, which is why they are currently all close to being flat on there collective ass’s. The public contributed but greedy bankers/brokers were willing and very eager accomplices in the end they all lost , lost big. To suggest that its’ the greedy home owners fault, the bankers/brokers come off looking pretty inept and unprofessional to be so easily taken advantage of. Every one was guilty of wanting and exercising to very little “Due Diligence”.

Jon Stewart is America's court je ster, and I mean that in the strict Shakespearean sense where is the only player in this hope less and path etic media dra ma (farc e?) who speaks the truth.

Let's look at the timeline.

27 Feb 2008 - Cramer recommends Bear Stearns

29 May 2008 - Bear Stearns succumbs to a merger

3 Mar 2009 - Cramer states "Obama is causing the greatest destruction of wealth I have ever seen" on the Today Show.

4 Mar 2009 - John Stewart makes a general attack on CNBC

9 Mar 2009 - Stewart puts together a video montage trashing Cramer's record emphasizing Cramer's advice on Bear Stearns WHICH TOOK PLACE A YEAR AGO.

Let's get something straight, Stewart could give a hoot about the little guy. If he had he would have put together a far funnier, much more current and far more devasting montage involving Barney Frank. Face it, Stewart's a leftwing toady doing his part to play cover for his boss in the White House.

The video is hysterical. Love it. Jon Stewart is great. Cramer is a buffoon.

The only thing I regret is that millions of American's who saw Scarborough's rant probably won't see Jon's response.

Hey Joe: The point is Jon doesn't profess to know what's happening in the Markets, whereas Cramer's job as a Market analyst for millions of views was to know about the Market. And Jon is correctly making a parody of the sham that ostensibly is Cramer's expertise!

When people like you and Cramer talk like you guys got it all figured out, you should take the criticism when you fail miserably, like Cramer did and the whole stinking Santelli CNBC crowd.

Stewart needs to be commended for speaking out about what the real issues are with these wall street crooks. Even as the bail out money gets distributed it does not make it past the boys at the top. Good on ya Jon for telling it like it is.

Hmmm...Do you think that Stewart might have listened to Cramer's advice
on which stocks to buy...and lost a big heap....

Sounds a little bitter to me.....

A lot of previous billionaires are no longer billionaires now and the same
goes for millionaires....

Glad I don't have to worry about losing money...hahaha
ONe of the advantages of not having anything to lose.

Well, I join you in your happiness for not having any money. I did lose a lot of money and how I wish I am you, moneyless. I can only imagine how lucky you feel in life, not having any money.
