Palin Graphic Novel Sells Out In U.S.

Sarah Palin, it turns out, remains extremely popular in the US - at least among readers of comics. A graphic biography of the Alaskan governor was released in the US yesterday and has been flying off the shelves, with its publisher already rushing back to press for a second printing.

Another inflammatory headline. What was the # of issue of the first run of the comic, sorry, graphic novel? Who cares? There's a lot of silliness associated with Palin. This is just another manifestation of that silliness.

Just goes to show ya that she's simply a caricature. The comic books will probably become collectors items because she will, eventually, fade into oblivion. You'll find these books on eBay soon at bargain rates.

It's small press, and exploitation small press at that. They carefully plan their print runs to sell out based on their pre-order numbers. Small press comics publishers may not be the shrewdest businesspeople, but if they ever plan to sell more than one comic, they have to plan their runs this way.
