Victoria Jackson On Fox News: Obama Is A Communist, Rush Limbaugh Should Run The Country (VIDEO)

Victoria Jackson, former "Saturday Night Live" cast member and Al Franken hater, went on Sean Hannity's show on Monday night. She started by cheering "Fox News, yay! The only one with the truth! Yay!" And ended by saying Rush, Sarah Palin and Sean Hannity should run the country, but it was her words in between that really shocked her fellow panelist, Fox News contributor Bob Beckel.

"My motivation is gone, because [Obama] will punish me if I'm successful. That's how you start communism, is just take -- Cuba. Obama wants to be Castro."

At this point Beckel could only say, "What?" But luckily Sean Hannity came to her defense at that vicious attack saying, "He wants to redistribute the wealth." As the Huffington Post has previously reported, this is not the first time Jackson went on Fox News and called Obama a communist.

She went on to discuss how she became politically interested, saying:

"Well, I've never been involved in politics. 'Cuz it's just neh neh neh, neh neh neh. But all of a sudden it was, it was: Oh, Hillary Clinton is a socialist, she wants to socialize medicine. Well, I'll have to vote against her. And then all of a sudden a communist appears! Out of nowhere! And that's when I started to get involved. So I did research. Uh, black liberation theology, his church, is Marxist. And his professors are Marxist. Redistribute the wealth --"

At this, Beckel seems genuinely worried for her, trying to reassure her that Obama is not a Communist and that she'll be fine.

Beside being very funny it is extremely sad. Sad because as a comedienne she is not funny but represents a small portion of the public that believes as she does. What has happened to our public education that people like these create opinions based on opinion. I understand Hannity as he is an undereducated moderator being paid to have a wingnut opinion, but having this woman on to express her crazy views shows that his program isn't about education based on facts but based on his "religious" political ideology (and I don't mean religious as in God but more as something he was born into and never had the intellectual capicity to make his own developed opinions). Kind of sad for our nation as the world press and viewing can pick this up and will be a certain face of a backward leaning America. God save this Republic as we really need his pragmatic intervention now.

Over a decade ago I remember she was on Love Line (the radio version). One may or may not agree with Dr. Drew Pinsky's snap diagnoses as ethical, but a common theme with the "little girl voice" is, guess what? The same thing that leads to substance abuse and then this kind of rigid, reactionary inanity in religion and politics; without the proper psychological treatment. I would love to make fun of her, but I feel really sorrow for her and the demons she must still wrestle with inside (even with God as her copilot). Also; I do love how they never bother to explain exactly what's wrong with Socialism or Communism, but merely use it to shut down the debate. Maybe Ms. Jackson could lecture me on Hegelian dialectics or the Fourth International, but somehow I doubt that any more than she could explain laissez-faire Capitalism or Reaganomics, bless her soul.

Actually, there is nothing wrong with socialism or communism as an ideal. The problem is that the ideal as interpreted by dictators has mostly turned out to be insidious. Socialism as interpreted in Scandanavia hasn't turned out so bad for its citizens. It is kind of the same here when we "voice freedom and democracy" but have a Bush administration that has violated basic freedoms and ideals of our Consitution for the sake of "keeping America free and safe". Deregulation sounds good as a concept for less restrictions on capital and the markets to advance the growth of our country. But once again it is a tool for corruption and greed by those who would use deregulation to foister their own ends on the public and markets; Madoff and subprime mortgages could be some examples. All are words and concepts until actualized for good or evil.

If you saw her doing this on SNL, you'd think it was a great parody of what female followers of Limbo and Hannity must be like. I think we should applaud her! And encourage her "heroes" to have her on frequently as a guest!

Actually, I feel sorry for Victoria Jackson. Like so many women veterans of Saturday Night Live, from Larraine Newman to Nora Dunn, that program never really knew what to do with its actresses. Only a few of them got the kind of exposure that launches careers. I rather doubt that Barack Obama ever had anything to do with that; if Ms. Jackson thinks the problem is the national zeitgeist, then blame the author of it: George W Bush.

I don't think the white male domination of Saturday Night Live over the years is the problem. I think Victoria Jackson has serious mental and emotional problems, even by comedian standards (and I include her in that profession in only the broadest sense), and I hope she gets the help she desperately needs. How FOX producers can sleep at night while exploiting the mentally ill and emotionally disturbed is beyond me...
