Blagojevich Enlists Former IRS Agent To Oversee Campaign Fund
Former Gov. Rod Blagojevich's campaign fund has hired a retired Internal Revenue Service special agent as its treasurer.
That's according to Michael Ettinger, who represents Rob Blagojevich, brother of the ex-governor and chair of the Friends of Blagojevich fund.
Ettinger says Bob Kennealy was hired within the last month to replace Stephen Caboor, who recently resigned.
Kennealy was a special agent for the IRS before he retired. Ettinger says the fund wanted a responsible citizen with financial credentials to fill the post.
Ettinger didn't know how much money is in the campaign fund.
Rod Blagojevich was arrested on Dec. 9 on federal corruption charges. Under state law, he could use cash from the fund to pay his legal expenses.
