Wife Who Beat GOP Official Gary Skoien After Allegedly Finding Him With Prostitutes Files For Divorce

CHICAGO (AP) -- The estranged wife of a former chairman of the Cook County Republican Party has filed for divorce, and for an emergency petition to prevent him from taking their three children from the state.

In a motion filed in Cook County Circuit Court, Eni Skoien contends she fears Palatine Township Republican Committeeman Gary Skoien will move their children out of the country this weekend. The motion does not explain why Eni Skoien fears that action.

A divorce petition filed by Eni Skoien also seeks to vacate the couple's premarital agreement.

Eni Skoien on Thursday appeared in a Rolling Meadows court for a hearing on a misdemeanor domestic battery charge. Barrington-Inverness police say on March 8, she struck her husband after finding him at the couple's home with two women.
