Two of the "Slumdog Millionaire" child actors walked the catwalk during Delhi's Fashion Week on Thursday.

Rubina Ali and Mohammed Azharuddin Ismail, the two children who have garnered a lot of media attention as they both still live in the slums of Mumbai, walked in the Ashima-Leena show wearing traditional outfits. They even spoke to reporters, as seen below.

And of course, this isn't exploiting these kids.

I'm sure Mohammed's Father has blown through that money already.

They're beautiful kids. I hope that when they become of legal age they will be able to access the money they are earning now and that it won't have been spent for them by their guardians.

That's why the director set up trust funds for their education. Mohammed's Father has already spent all of the money his son received up front. The Father is now demanding that he have access to the trust fund. Lump sum in cash. Did you catch him beating his son because the boy didn't want to be put on display to beg for money? Turns out he had a fever.

It's a shame this boy can't be removed from his family and placed in some sort of foster care in better living conditions where he won't be beaten.

I didn't hear about that, how awful. He sounds like a stage father on steroids! He should be appreciating the fame and fortune his son has brought, not beating the poor kid! I hope someone who has the ability to help looks into this situation.

I'm worried for the mental health of these kids. It seems like it would be too much to handle -- bouncing between incredible luxury and incredible poverty. I hope for the very best for them both.

Okay the pictures are nice and the kids are cute ......... but the movie is over, let kids be just kids and go back to school and have a normal life.

I know they have money now, but the world of fashion and movie doesn't always turn out with good ending for kids.

Man you are so uninformed it's stupid. They don't have money now and they returned to the slums right after the oscars. If it wasn't for them being in fashion shows like this they'd be back living in a big dirt pile under a sheet.

The movie IS reality for many people, at least the slums.

Why did you even comment?

Very simple ........ I comment because I like to see response from stupid people like yourself.

You just see the money and that's your problem.

If they didn't do what they were told, that father of theirs would whooped their butts good. Sad. Just another way to exploit children for familial gains.

you would do the same thing if you were their father living in the slums. Don't be so condescending and self-righteous.

Bring 'em (with family) to the States/UK already...this back forth can severely traumatize a kid.

If you actually read the article above instead of leaping to judge, you'd have known that the fashion show took place...IN INDIA. Also, all of this uproar over their treatment is unfounded. The sad fact is that the families of some of these children have tried to steal the money from them, and the movie executives put a lot of thought and work into compensating them appropriately without ruining their lives and removing them from their normal milieu. Getting them to stay in school has been a big priority goal also. It's all been reported, if you just look.

Rubina Ali and Mohammed Azharuddin Ismail are now so well known that placing them in an event gains international media attention.
This fashion show would never have been noticed without them.

Rubina Ali will be a star in movies with a very bright future because she connects with the audience instantly. They should be treated well.

It is nice to hear that their families are getting housing (an apartment) that is far better than the slum they were originally living in. With their education payments & trust fund, we know the kids will be OK. However, Fox made a huge error in dumping them back into the slum like trash while their movie was making Fox millions in its world release.

Why are they still living in the slums? What the hell is wrong with their employers?

They are the children of their parents, not the employers.

They are employees of their employers. I don't care if they're being raised by wolves. They deserve decent pay.

No second class status for children!

There is no doubt that those kids are beyond cute. And I am very happy for their recent success,,but it's starting to get close to overkill with all this slumdog kids talk. Okay, we get it, the movie was great, the kids are amazing, their story is amazing, but who really cares now? I am very happy to see Indian people getting so much positive attention in the Western media, that in itself is huge and impressive. So I am not being a hater, I am just sick of hearing something new related to slumdog millionare every single day. Just my opinion.

Then skip over it and don't read it.

Obviously you care because you clicked on the story. Why do people always complain as if because they personally have no interest, then no one else should. The kids are cute and it's nice to see their sweet faces. It's just that simple.

Let's hope the $1000 they got didn't go into their parent's pockets or alcoholism. But they are cutey pies.

They are muslims so you can rule the alcoholism out !

If these were US Kids you would be on point.

I hope the parents get the money and get the family into a proper dwelling and out of the slums...... Kidnapping is a real concern in those conditions.

I agree. I feel the same way about seeing Tom Cruise everywhere. Give me a break. I'm happy to see him have his success and get positive attention (perhaps too much attention to coverup attention to other matters), but that's ridiculous. I'm not a hater, but he should be treated like other exotic curiosities from other countries. Give them their flash in the pan, and then sweep them back under the rug they came from.

Actually the three little non actors are the ones great in the movie. The movie was okay, more of an exploitation of a third world country, I thought.
But, music was great !
