Portia De Rossi appeared on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" last night and talked about being a teenage model and her new show "Better Off Ted." She also brought with her a new PSA she made about gay marriage.

Despite being a gay rights activist, it was an apology to all the Prop 8 supporters who were put out by protesting same-sex marriage. She was wed to Ellen DeGeneres in August of 2008 after California legalized the practice. The ensuing battle of over the proposition to reverse the court's ruling is now before the California Supreme Court.

i m bisexual and i support gay marriage i understand that most of the arguements against gay marriage are becuz they think that marriage is just when a man and a women but last time i knew marriage was supposed to be when two people male and female or female and female or male and male fell madly deeply in love with each other and wanted to spend the rest of their life with them i mean it shouldnt matter what gender u are or race or any thing if your in love then your in love thats what matters i think every one deserves to be happy with who they are happy with it shouldnt matter what the legal system says becuz the legal system dosent define how we feel about each other

I believe that gays should have the right to marry. I think they should be just as miserable as straight people are in a marriage. Equal rights means equal misery.

Oddly enough... the divorce rates in gay marriage seem to be lower. But they say "mixed marriages" are always more difficult.

The gays are wrecking my family values. They are removing the plastic slip covers off of my sofa.

A manlady? There really aren't many functional hermaphrodites around, and she's already married.

A lot of straight people need to find a hobby (like getting a life), other than their voyeuristic preoccupation of minding everyone else's business. In some ways, I feel sorry for them. After all, what, besides reproducing children, whom they are totally incapable of raising, and who frequently wind-up becoming incarcerated alcoholics, drug addicts, pedophiles, and general public nuisances, do they contribute to society? Breeder/parasites, like Nadia Suleiman, should help everyone appreciate the value of the incredibly talented, hard-working, tax paying members of society, that most gay people are. Gay people are special, and endowed by God with special gifts, which clearly shows our connection with spirit. Straight people who refuse to acknowledge our gifts, are simply jealous, because our lives are not defined by us spreading our legs, and giving birth to children victimized by Walmart shopping parents with low I.Q.'s. Try getting a life, or at least admit you don't have one. Then, ask one of your gay neighbors or relatives for tips on how you can find some satisfaction, other than meddling in other people's affairs.

It's important to remember that in the history of America no civil rights struggle has ever been lost. It always takes time, but the progressive cause always, always wins. Every single time. It's not about to change.

You just have to look at the change in attitudes since, say, the 1950's. You go into the 1950's, which was a racist and sexist society that pushed conformity, and homosexuality was almost universally condemned. Now look at the attitudes today. The rise in tolerance and acceptance is truly remarkable and inspiring. Every generation is more tolerant than the previous generation. I'm 24 and I know very, very few people who are opposed to gay marriage. The kids growing up right now will even more tolerant. Their kids, even more tolerant.

It's mathematics. When the kids growing up today can vote, and when their kids are old enough to vote, something like gay marriage will pass with ease. Gay marriage might not be legal in the next 3 or 4 years, but the next 20? 30? It's absolutely inevitable.

It's also important to remember that not every person opposed to gay marriage is as hateful and bigoted as people like "BigCountry". Some of them might be on the fence, some of them will come around and vote the other way in coming years. I'm sure there are many people who were racist in the 1950's who felt ashamed twenty years later.

You can't be serious. Take a second and breath. Get your thoughts together. Form real sentences. Spell words correctly. And go away.

What G-d has joined together, let no man put asunder...
I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me...
I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.

Just to point, perhaps the reason that few have posted in an unfavorable view is because this is a liberal blog. Those of us who tend to hold a few socially conservative views here and there find ourselves not tolerated, so best not to say anything.

As I am not the Almighty, I don't profess to know what should be done when it comes to gay marriage. I will not stop people who want to live in a healthy way. As far as people who want to go to extremes or try to put themselves or others in a harmful situation, we should help. NOT hurt them. Otherwise, it is none of our business.

I disagree. The problem with conservative views being expressed here is not the fact that they are expressed, so much, as the WAY they are expressed. They are often expressed in an unthoughtful and angry way with zero rational facts to support them. Even though I don't agree with all you've said or even the way you've said it, you haven't approach it in the way I described, so at least as far as I'm concerned, you are more than welcome. But when someone shows up in the enemy's camp, so to speak, and only throws bombs, I think they're bound to get the same thrown right back at them.

Most of the churches I attended growing up taught me that God created all of us. It has been proven that the majority of homosexual people are born that way - "They just are who they are. " IF God created everyone then he created them. We are also taught not to judge others that God will judge us, but many have put themselves in the position of God and all they do is judge others. I am not sure it they are bored or just need to feel superior by belittling others. Getting married is a RIGHT. If Christians are so opposed to having gay marriages in their church so be it, but they do not have the right to deny a homosexual from getting married in a civil service - their reach should not extend past their church. Many moved to America to escape the control of the church and here we are trying to put this country back under the very religious restrictions that we came to this country to escape. Strange isn't it?? Homosexuals just are and it is not a choice unlike many of the things that people trying to stop it are relating it to. Child molesting, incest etc are a choice. Homosexuals are God's children and hopefully at some point people will live their own lives as they are instructed to and let God judge because he knew that we are not capable without having an agenda all our own.
