Natasha Richardson was laid to rest Sunday in Millbrook, NY.

Husband Liam Neeson, sons Michael and Daniel, sister Joely Richardson and mother Vanessa Redgrave were joined by some of the late actress's friends, including Ralph Fiennes, Holly Hunter and Laura Linney, for the service.

When my husband died suddenly back in 2005, a friend of mine took photographs at the cemetary, and later gave me an album with them. While the memory of that day is sad, I do not regret having the photos in my possession, and my children were comforted by them. I think that it helped us with the closure that we needed, along with being able to remember those who were there to comfort us. The photos taken of Liam with his sons and his mother-in-law are touching and beautiful in their sorrow. It is heartbreaking to lose a loved one at such a young age, but Liam and his children have wonderful, loving people around them. Coming from that part of New York, I also know that the people of Millbrook will cherish his family, and give them any support (or privacy) that is needed. I wish them comfort, and pray for them in their time of need.

As a fan of Natasha and her whole family I am saddened at this shocking loss. Something of interest and a very strange omission -- I can only think because most reporters out there covering this story are too young or else not film buffs by any stretch of the imagination. The distinguished bearded gentleman standing with Vanessa Redgrave in the first photo is her husband Franco Nero. Nero was a huge international star in the late sixties and early seventies and remains a star in western Europe to this day. I think it is exceedingly strange that no one has thought to credit him in any of the photos he's been in for any of the articles about Natasha anywhere. Nero and Redgrave met on the set of CAMELOT in 1967 and were a couple off and on ever since. When Vanessa couldn't be at the marriage of Liam and Natasha in the early 90s, Franco acted as surrogate father and gave the bride away. He and Vanessa finally married in 2006. They are a fabled and incredibly romantic couple in the pantheon of 'movie star royalty' and I think it is incredibly beautiful and poignant that they are still with each other and were there for each other in this tragic time for the family.

Also, how very tragic that Natasha left behind two young sons; Michael and Daniel Neeson are in my prayers, may their wonderful and happy memories of their mother Natasha sustain them. when I first heard that Natasha Richardson had hit her head and was in critical condition I prayed she would make it through, when I later found out she had died I just thought how sad how tragic, there was something about her that I always liked she always seemed happy and a really nice decent person , she seemed so sophisticated and yet someone you wouldn't feel uncomfortable saying hi to if you saw them in public, it Ironic that Liam Neeson played a grieving widow in the movie Love Actually, thats just a little to close to home seeing as he truly seem to love and adore his wife just as he did in that movie so terribly sad.

Ty90, these photos are not of a 'Black' or 'White' funeral, but of a Christian Funeral. The Neeson/Ric­hardson/Re­dgrave Family are CHRISTIAN. In Christian belief and tradition - and most particularly, in Irish Christian belief and tradition - a wake and burial is not meant to be a time of despair, but of rejoicing. It is a celebration of the time on Earth, a ceremony of thanks for allowing Natasha to touch so many with her spirit - by all accounts a spirit of love, playfulness, and joy. Those of us who belive in an all powerful and loving God know that what is truly Natasha Richardson Neeson is not dead. The 'shell' around her spirit is gone - but Natasha, through her belief, lives on in the Great Spirit. God sent this to us - His Most Powerful Message - in the life, 'death', and resurrection of our Saviour, Jesus the Christ. Thus, it is not only the truest sign of love, to rejoice at their loved one joining God, but to not show contempt for God's message by a 'wailing and gnashing of teeth' at a wake and funeral.
