"I'd Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur" Campaign Gets "Kardashian Bump"

As we've noted, PETA has its own trademark ways of getting attention, and perhaps the most noticeable is their various semi-nude or nude protests.

One of their campaigns that gets the most attention is the "I'd Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur" campaign, because it enlists attractive celebrities to pose for billboard photos. When they're in your town, they're just about impossible to miss.

That campaign just got a boost by appearing on a reality show. In a recent episode of "Keeping Up With The Kardashians," Khloe Kardashian poses nude for PETA:

On tomorrow's episode, "I'd Rather Go Naked...Or Shopping," Khloe deals with harsh criticisms regarding her appearance. Her stepfather, Bruce Jenner, isn't much help, as he tells Khloe to lose some weight. After posing nude for PETA's "I'd Rather Go Naked" anti-fur campaign, she finds it painful to confront her insecurities as the press continues to watch her every move.

It's getting more grueling for Khloe, as she grew up being constantly compared to her sisters. While she doesn't show how much her looks really matter to her, the situation is different this time. Working with PETA and seeing the results have made her far from jubilant. She might be taking part in something she's passionate about, but she couldn't help getting overwhelmed by self-doubt.

Chloe is old enough to make her own decisions. I'm sure it was explained to her that deciding to pose nude might open her up to criticizm, even from a step father. Her mother Chris is the one who seems quite disturbing. She seems to be attempting to live vicariously through her daughters (particularly Kim), and shamelessly goes around pimping her as her agent. Kim is famous for a sex video, and for clubbing with famous friends like Paris Hilton, who is also famous for her sex video. Out of this comes a reality show that exploits the whole family and makes them famous, but for what? Now the other daughters are jealous and they want to be famous just like Kim. What is their talent? Perhaps at their age they could all be out on their own, pursuing independent careers, and not living with their mother?? And... perhaps Chris could be raising her younger daughters not to go in the same direction as the first 3 but allow them to actually have a career.

It is good that they have celebrity spokespeople to pose for these ads. The real PETA people have no business being naked. No one wants to see that on a bilboard. People would instantly stop supporting them. P.E.T.A. "People for Eating Tasty Animals" Yumm!

For the last time, PETA: if you want people to stop wearing fur, stop having attractive women pose nude for photos saying they'd rather go naked than wear fur because we WANT to see said women nude! You're sabotaging yourselves with such a campaign!
