Haha, you can't convert for a day. You have to go through one or two years of Catechism lessons before you can become a Catholic. And only then would you be received into the Church at the Easter Vigil Mass, the night before Easter Sunday. He would have had to start Catechism classes before or soon after the Presidential campaigns started and then finally be received in two weeks at Easter, not almost 10 weeks from now at the end of May. Morever, since Pres. Obama is already a Christian he wouldn't need to be baptized, his baptism is already valid (provided they did it correctly baptizing him "in the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit," like Jesus tells us in the Bible) so he would only be confirmed in the Catholic Faith if everything were done correctly.

Baptism is the identification of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ It is a profession of ones' faith. To abuse or use Baptism for self-gain is a mockery to the Cross of Christ. To paraphrase scripture....... you will know them ( Christians) by their fruit.

As a compromise to protesters, President Obama has offered to convert to Catholicism for a day.

Obama, with his "corrupt" values and morals re' abortion, has offered to convert to Catholicism for one day as a compromise to "protestors." The Catholic Church teaches that life begins at conception. Obama's jester for conversion is an insult to those who hold a high regard for life of the unborn. Conversion is to be taken seriously not as matter of convenience or an ultimate cure all or fix-it. Is there room for compromise by the Catholic Church when life of the unborn child is at stake? Obama has been labeled anywhere from pro-abortion, to abortion advocate, to a pro-choice president.. His platform speaks for itself. As promised, within the first 2 weeks of his presidency, Obama signed the FOCA law , which lifted all restrictions on and allowing abortions for any reason. By signing this law, Obama has" legalized " killing of the unborn. While many remain appalled over the presidential invitation and call it scandalous, others, setting aside their moral differences, find it an honor to uphold secular tradition. In conclusion, let it be said that one day we will all stand before our maker. Now who shall we fear and pay honor to man or God.

Just the fact that Chairman Obama is being protested so early on shows he isn't the JFK reincarnated the extremists (progressives ) thought......This is almost as quick as Pres Bush.

President Obama's already high approval rating is higher still. Other than that, great point. ;-)

We live in a different time than JFK.
People used to be more respectful, and the religious right have managed to put their "personal" beliefs front & center of every issue.

Didn't think so.
