Bobcat Walks Into Arizona Bar, Attacks Patrons

COTTONWOOD, Ariz. — A bobcat has attacked three people in the central Arizona community of Cottonwood, including two men who were bitten by the animal after it wandered inside a bar.

Officers called to the Chapparal Bar arrived to find the bobcat in the parking lot, where they shot and killed it.

Tests were ordered to determine if the animal was rabid. It wasn't clear how seriously the victims had been wounded.

Cottonwood police say the animal attacked Monday when it scratched a woman who thought she had hit it with her car. Then police got a report of a bobcat acting aggressively toward a woman outside a Pizza Hut.

About 11 p.m. came the call from the bar that a bobcat was inside as patrons climbed atop bar stools to get away.

Don't they have animal control in that city?? All they needed was that pole with the rope at the end and then take the animal out to the country side. Why do they have to kill an animal every time in this situation? Like a bobcat has ever killed a person - gimme a break.

It is that old bobcat joke, you remember, because I don't, but it starts off: A bobcat walks into a bar and struts up to drunk fondling a chicken. The bobcat says, "Take your hands off that chick, or I'll scratch your eyes out." .......or something like that.

I'm glad my NCAA bracket did better than a rabid bobcat in rural Arizona! At least my bracket doesn't have any bullet holes in it, yet...

Or I guess the humane thing to do with my bracket would be to tranquilize it and release it far away where no one will see it ever again. Nah.

That bobcat was hell. Most of the time, when men be sitting around at a bar, they usually have their weapon on them. I guess this is one time they left it in the vehicle or at home.

It is a felony to take a firearm into a bar or restaurant that serves liquor.
Alcohol and firearms are a sure formula for major trouble. Alcohol and darn near anything frequently end badly.
That said, let's give it up for the bobcat.

My husband and I both agreed that it was a shame that this creature was killed. Why couldn't it be safely captured? Are there no tranquilizers in Arizona? Animal control officers? I mean...Palin was allowed to walk free there...and SHE posed more of a threat to humanity than this beautiful animal! What's wrong with this picture?
