Limbaugh: 'If Obama Fails, America Is Saved'

Bill O'Reilly wants to see President Obama succeed, he says, but Rush Limbaugh is as adamant as ever that he hopes Obama will fail in the White House. During his Monday radio show, he told listeners that Obama's failure would mean the country would be "saved."

"Based on what we've seen with General Motors and the banks, if he fails, America is saved," Limbaugh said. "Barack Obama's policies and their failure is the only hope we've got to maintain the America of our founding."

O'Reilly has a different outlook. Asked if he want Obama to fail: "No. We want him to succeed. We want to persuade him that perhaps some of his policies are not going to help him succeed."

I don't think that people are picking up on the most interesting and revealing thing that Limbaugh said, so let's repeat it: "Barack Obama's policies and their failure is the only hope we've got to maintain the America of our founding."

Limbaugh's declarations notwithstanding, this is the clearest indication of his--and his follower's (the Republican's) racism that is at the core of their entire worldview and which is the cancer of American society. First of all, let's analyze what he most likely means by "our": he means those who follow him and believe in what he says, his dittoheads, who are usually older, racist white males who don't normally have much in the way of education. So when Limbaugh says, "we've got to maintain the America of our founding," he means the America of such people.

And what was the America of their founding predicated upon? Look at what the United States was just before and after Independence. It was a place were only European white male property owners had rights and privileges, women did not, blacks were considered subhuman, Indians were slated for extermination and Mexican land and labor was coveted in the most un-Christian ways.

That was the America of Rush Limbaugh's and his followers' founding. Thank God America really is so much more than that.

One notes Obama is still facing serious bigotry. Liz Sidoti of the Associated press says that even in 2009, a black man cannot become president of the United States without some knuckleheads sending stupid emails about him.

In other words, it's serious racial injustice to treat Obama exactly the same way George W. Bush was treated.

Well, since the press bent over backwards to hide or ignore George Bush's deficiencies and scurried around to get his favor and thus never made any seriouc challenges to his activities on anything and, for the most part, did no serious investigative reporting on the evils he was doing, I certainly hope that the press does not do the same with President Obama. It is the press' job to find the facts and report on them objectively. If the press had done its job and reported all of the Bush administration's misfeasance and malfeasance in office, then perhaps we would not be in the mess we are in. In any case, I certainly hope the press remembers their job and gets back to reporting facts and not being second-line public relation shills for any presidential administration.

If there were any racial injustice going on, it was in how the press treated George Bush. He was treated with favoritism and given an easy ride just because he was a conservative white male like most who run the media and they didn't want to hurt one of their own.

With that said, Liz Sidotti is right and you are an example of someone sending stupid e-mails about a President just because he is Black...and admit it, it sticks in your craw that an African American beat a lily-white senator. You just can't handle it, can you, SailFree?

If you monitor the number of groups in America that Rush Limbaugh is willing to 'write off', you see that the only ones really left are the corporate bigwigs. I think this translates to 'bigwigs with power' that he allies himself with who will keep pumping money into his programming.

Why do Republicans continue to worship and blindly follow an over-egoed, charismatic, loud-mouthed man with only a high school education? Rush Limbaugh is not smart enough or driven enough to finish even one community college course and Republicans have NO PROBLEM with that.

Whenever I bring up the fact that Limbaugh has NO EDUCATION Republicans always respond with "well you don't have to have a degree to be SMART!!" (Yea, right Einstien).

If Rush Limbaugh is so brilliant then why does he not allow any opposition or challenge on his show? He censors all callers and airs ONLY the supportive rantings and ravings of his rabid followers. Rush Limbaugh is not smart enough to defend his positions on air or in person and Republicans who follow him are not smart enough to see that Rush can't hold his own.

As long as Republicans allow Rush Limbaugh to define who the GOP is then they will continue to loose.

Democrats go for celebrity, for promises, for mindless activism.

Republican voters (as opposed to many Republican politicians) are smaller government, lower tax, more freedom, less intrusive government types for the most part.
