Meghan McCain's Aaron Schock Blog: "He Can Relay A Message In Ways My Father Never Could"

Meghan McCain wrote on The Daily Beast today about a subject near and dear to the Huffington Post: GOP Rep. Aaron Schock. McCain was apparently surprised that a Republican congressman could be such a looker (she was sure Schock was a Democrat at first), and drew a comparison between him and her much much older father, pointing out that Schock "can relay a message in ways my father never could."

Schock's rapid rise to the national level is, if nothing else, interesting, especially given the serious soul-searching the Republican Party is experiencing. My father, had he won, would have been the oldest president in history elected to a first term. He was often criticized because of the generational gap between him and young voters. Schock should play his youth to his advantage, and so should the GOP. In a party stereotyped as one for old, white men, Schock has made a marked impression on my generation's zeitgeist--even if it was unintentional.

McCain also believes the 27-year old hottie from Illinois is exactly what the GOP needs right now:

Schock's youth allows him to be more attached to my (our) generation, yet he has not oversaturated himself in the media, making him all the more intriguing. With that comes much power; I encourage Schock, and the Republican Party, to embrace his age and his political convictions to continue to communicate conservative ideals to a growing audience.

Yeah, because the problem with Republicans stem from them not being good-looking enough to entice voters...yeah, THAT'S the problem, not their message...OK.

GOP, Inc. needs a mental stimulus package or it will cease to exist as any kind of organized political party. Not that that would be a bad thing. Reviving the party of Taft and Eisenhower at the expense of these neo-con, warmongering, budget busting, economic traitors and corporate hacks would be a good thing.
Even the Nixon administration looks good compared to this farrago of clueless dolts (Palin, Steele), raving demagogues (Limbaugh, Glenn Beck) and warmongering crooks (Cheney, Giuliani).
But Democrats should be on guard and never forget Lord Acton's words about absolute power corrupting absolutely, otherwise we might be discussing that party's demise in a few years.

The repubs and conservs have proven themselves worthless. 8 years of Bush and 8 years of Reagan have demonstrated that rigis ideologues are dangerous and destructive. While their worst motives may be to enslave the common people to their wealth causes, the ramifications of their plans are far worse. They end up starting wars, intruding on and disrupting the functioning of other countries, destroying the environment, preventing progress and making people, in general, dysfunctionally dependent in uneeded ways. Some in America are so brain washed now that they will automatically and stupidly follow the conserv movement, but most people have realized it is a propag anda promotion with hidden motives that lead to severe consequences.

The whole hottie thing is a turn off to me. Also just because he is young, does not mean he can convey a message anymore than an older person can. I just don't buy that...... I am glad Meghan is trying to convince everyone the Republican party can be inclusive but I don't believe they ever will be as a party. She is better off being an independent.

If she does something bad she gets in the spotlight so good for her for speaking up. Yes she is priveliged...that doesn't make her opinion any less valuable. BTW McCain was not born priveliged.

I mean it's not like she's seeking out attention by, say, writing a blog or going on talk shows or issuing public statements or anything. Oh no, she is totally incognito, not looking for attention at all.

Ok - here's the skinny - old man McCain WAS born privileged...his father and grandfather were admirals...perhaps the only family with this distinction. He never worked a real job..other than working for his father in law after marrying heiress Cindy. When returning from his ordeal McCain was brought to the White House, paraded in front of cameras etc...what other war hero was given this platform upon coming home?
Megan was never heard from prior to the campaign...she JUST became a republican. She was almost always in the camera shot during the campaign..­.obviously they were prepping the press for her emergence. She has NOT said anything of substance or value other than calling extreme repubs mean.
As for my credentials...I own a small business, employ people, contribute to local schools and churches etc. I've been active in politics and writing to my state and national leaders since I was 13 years old. Megan should get a real job...oh no, she doesn't have to wrok - shes' really wealthy and as I said...privileged!
