A private contractor that paid $1.15 billion to lease Chicago's 36,000 parking meters agreed Tuesday to delay price hikes in some areas and stop writing parking tickets to augment city enforcement until it gets a handle on a rash of broken, over-stuffed and mis-marked meters.

Wow! A 75 year contract! Parking enforcement is a government function and should be off limits two private business. This company is in it for the money so you know there will be widespread abuse and fraud!

I still think that the people of Chicago should revolt. The mayor had no right to give a private firm control of the parking meters for 75 years! Especially since bailed out Morgan Stanley was behind the acquisition.
