Fox News: Obama Trying To Impose Sharia (VIDEO)

Fox News anchor Alisyn Camerota and guest Nonie Darwish suggested something radical Wednesday morning: the Obama administration is attempting to impose Sharia, the strict Islamic law, to the U.S. and its courts.

The bogus report stems from an email sent to State Department appointee Harold Koh, claiming that while Koh was dean of Yale Law School he suggested Sharia law could be applied to U.S. courts in some situations.

Camerota: So this man, Harold Koh, this potential State Department nominee has impressive credentials. He's a Dean at Yale University, but he also has a history of supporting Sharia law -- even here in the U.S. What are some of the things that he has said in the past that has raised eyebrows?

Darwish: Well, uh, I heard that he doesn't mind referring to laws, foreign laws and integrating them into the U.S. legal system. It's very hard for me to imagine that an American official can incorporate Sharia law, because Sharia is totally at odds with our bill of rights, and our Constitution. Sharia does not allow freedom of religion. It discriminates against women, against non-Muslims. There is no equal rights under Sharia.

According to DailyKos, the White House refuted the allegations, and the author of the original email has not been reached for comment.

According to White House spokesman Reid Cherlin, the allegations contained in the e-mail are false. Moreover, in an article buried on its website, Fox conceded that that it has been unable to reach the author of the e-mail posted by National Review.
