Johnny Depp left his hotel in Puerto Rico earlier today and headed over to the set of The Rum Diary. His fans might be very excitable, but Johnny's been looking as cool as a cucumber while filming. His work isn't limited to movies these days -- he's also set to guest star on an upcoming episode of SpongeBob SquarePants.

This guy is my favorite actor. This movie looks great but I can't wait for Public Enemies to open and I'm so sad that I missed it when it filmed here in Chicago.

I just read that book a month or two ago. Very atmospheric. Hunter had a lot of self hatred (if that isn't an obvious statement.
BTW - Johnny, you clean up real nice.
The guy in the book is in his twenties. Maybe Depp plays his boss. Also, the book is one of the least "atmospheric" I have ever read that takes place in a tropical setting. Anti-atmospheric, even. The story plays out against a background of Puerto Rico as it slips from unspoiled island to over-developed resort at the end of the fifties. The visit to Vieques with the US military guy rams home the point.
I just love that man.
