These right wingers are something aren't they? They're getting busted just two days after being sworn in. Right is right no matter where they're from.

Israel's judiciousness is totally predicated on the interests of Israel, not those of justice. Its well known that Israeli courts regularly ignore the practices of IDF troops in the occupied lands. Its laws are made for Israeli Jews in particular. And they can be changed to meet their interests. It doesn't matter if Israeli judges convict the president, Olmert, Lieberman, or whomever. If Lieberman had the power, he'd change the laws to reenforce fascism and immunity for himself and his followers.
That being said, I suspect powers within Israel want to do away with Lieberman. This fellow as a foreign minister is an intentional 'finger' to the entire rest of the world by Netanyahu. Except others still see the need to have good relations with the rest of the world, therefore they want to do away with Lieberman before he irreversibly destroys Israel's international face.

With his philosophy of picking and choosing which treaties he believes in leads me to believe he has some issues with other laws, laws that most people find okay but that he could rationalize breaking for himself. He is toast and this is a big blow to Bibi.

Deja vu all over again for Netanyahu (see last time he was PM), and just after Olmerts disgrace. Motto—If you can find an Israeli politician out of prison—run him.

Oh my, an Israeli politician being investigated on charges of corruption. What a shock.

Unlike every other country in the Middle East, Israel investigates its politicians and holds them accountable for their crimes. The region's dictators and monarchs should look at Israel as an example of how to run their governments.

True, but nothing Israeli is well received here so neither will its independent judiciary. If the evidence is there to nail Lieberman he will be nailed. Israel's politicians are starting to sound a lot like Chicago's, sad to say.

Seems as though this investigation is getting to him. His recent comments about the 2007 summit in Annapolis have made some noise:
