NEW YORK — An online chain of posts involving Demi Moore apparently prompted police to go to the aid of a California woman who was having suicidal thoughts.

San Jose Sgt. Ronnie Lopez says the department received a phone call early Friday morning from a person in Dallas who was tipped off to a supposed suicide attempt through the social networking site Twitter.

Moore, a popular celebrity Twitterer, was involved in a discussion on the site that began when a user sent the actress what appeared to be suicidal notes.

Lopez says officers made immediate contact with a 48-year-old female resident of San Jose, Calif., and transferred her to a local hospital for "psychiatric evaluation."

He says there were no injuries.

Original Thought;
That's nice of her. --- She's a natural actress, a natural beauty. In real life she looks better than the movies and TV.

If you tell me my dyslexia is showing, I bet I look up more words in the dictionary than you per year.

Hmm - did Demi Moore phone 911? No? Did Demi Moore try to contact the alleged suicidee? No?
Hmm did Demi Moore ask others to contact 911? No? So a perfunctory step of forwarding a tweet is lauded as the saving a life- whoa the lunatics have taken over the asylum.

CNN reported that Demi was in France where Ashton Kutcher was filming a movie. That fact makes suicide much too appealing.

Twitter, Schmitter. Who cares? What I want to know is what freaking doctor does Demi go to?Or does she drink Ashton's blood or bathe in some fountain of youth because she looks amazing! Seriously, the other actresses from the brat pack era didn't age so well but my lord Demi is like a real life "Death Becomes Her".

I seriously doubt Demi Moore asked for this publicity - but while I'm at it - check out "Flawless" - she did a marvelous job!

This is probably the best thing that happened to this poor person. Trust me, they'll be on 0prah in a couple of weeks. Public relations people eat this stuff up.

I think I saved a guy talking suicide in the gas station food mart line after I said not to do it. Do I get my 15 minutes of fame?

What ever happened to personal satisfaction? Why do you need fame for your good deed?

You may very well be right. As a person who has had dark thoughts on occasion, I can say that one good comment has the impact of 10 bad ones. Of course, the ideal is to not be phased by the bad comments, but very few are totally immune to them and they are probably narcissists.
