Keith Olbermann's mother, Marie, passed away, and he offered a tender tribute to her on his show tonight. Olbermann, while acknowledging her sacrifices and hard work as a parent and school teacher, chose to focus on her extreme passion for the sport of baseball, a passion made famous by an extraordinary event involving Yankees infielder Chuck Knoblauch.

Kieth, I don't lke what you have to say much--well really not at all--but I did like your Mom and I'm sorry for your loss--havi­ng been through this myself--yo­u'll get over it kinda, but you never forget.

I know you probably don't read these comments keith but if you do, I would like to say that I thought your tribute to your late mom was awesome. I see where you get your humor from. I'm so sorry for your loss and I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. I never miss your show, i only wish you had more than 60 minutes and did a weekend spot. take care from a loyal viewer.

I think he was working pretty hard to hold it together. You can see at about 1:30 - 1:40 that he gets choked up just before cutting away. Then, at the end, when he does his traditiona­l good night and good luck, they cut away and you can hear that he is pretty choked up. I admire Keith's willingnes­s to come on and do his job, holding it together for the show, and sharing this with us. My condolence­s to Keith and his entire family.

I'm no longer an Olbermann fan and don't watch him. But this tribute transends politics and got to me. Great comment earlier in the week Re: Justice Department and wiretaps. Might watch again.

Thanks for sharing your personal memories of your mom. Losing my dad in 2001 was nowhere near as hard as was losing my daughter in 1988. The emptiness never really goes away but with time the good memories help lessen it. Rather like filling a space with flowers. She gave you the strength you'll need.
