Israel and America must get real about Iran, as Obama is clearly doing by putting Holbrooke and Hillary on the case. Getting real doesn't mean seeing Iran as a deadly enemy determined literally to vaporize Israel (and be completely wiped off the face of the earth by Israeli nuclear retaliation of a hundred nukes to one). To actually believe that the leaders of Iran are all willing to go up in smoke to destroy Israel is fanatical paranoid madness, not realism. Even Hitler would not have invade Poland, if it could have annihilated all of Germany the moment he did so, as Israel would certainly do to Iran instantly. Getting real means facing just how very rich and powerful Iran is inevitably going to be, as the price of oil skyrockets and they discover more and more of it. Iran is going to be one of the richest nations on earth, period. That situation must be anticipated and dealt with wisely and sanely, as Obama clearly intends to do. Intimidating Iran is not a realistic option. There is no way to "deal" with them other than by serious, profound negotiations, as Robert Baer has long been preaching.

Has anyone Exxon yet?

The price of oil is low enough as it is, and now Iran says they have even more?

Gee, if all those Iraqi reserves come on line as well, maybe oil will be $10/barrel.

Is this good news for the future of transportation and the environment, or for the oil companies?

Abundant, affordable oil: Not good news for the climate.

Good luck for them. Maybe they won't need nuclear power after all.

The article proclaims: "Iranians have problems in extracting the crude and delivering it"

And the last time I looked over from one of the two Aircraft Carrier Battle Group (read Armada) 'keeping the peace' in the Persian Gulf, I was convinced that the 'grapes too, are sour.' Where is Chevron or Exxon-Mobil when you need them.

In fact there never was an occasion in the US naval history when two Battle Groups were working side by side in a spot - never mind that any conflagration would literally strangle Europe and that little trouble-making country on the Mediterranean we are supposed to love so much!

"Iran's reserve are the third largest behind Saudi Arabia and Canada."

Canada, huh! Amazing. Few knew that!

US doesn't have any dispute with Canada. That is the reason.

Trouble is the oil is in shale and very expensive to extract.

this is real bad news for Iran. They better hope their armies are ready to defend it because you know USA is after it

I guess they'd better hurry up and build their nuke if they want to keep their oil and their sovereignty.

China's gonna be pleased with this news and someone else is gonna be even more resentful and pea-green with envy.

You should move to Iran.....they might not let you surf the web as much as you'd like, and most Iranians actually have a better opinion of the US than you do...but you might like it nonetheless.

They should have kept their yaps shut - now there will be WMD's in Iran for sure. Iraq has 115 billion bbls of crude and 12 trillion cu ft of natural gas - A prize worth American soldiers dying for, right? Iran is dead meat - I think I will go out and by a big SUV - there will be plenty of gas in the future.
