Levi Johnston's Sister Mercede Tattoos His Name On Her Wrist...What Would You Do? (POLL, VIDEO)

Mercede Johnston Tattoo

18-year-old Levi Johnston, Bristol Palin's ex-boyfriend and father of her 3-month-old baby, appeared on Monday's Tyra Banks show with his mother Sherry and sister Mercede. The Johnstons were there to tell their side of the Levi-Bristol break-up, and the conversation twice turned to tattoos.

First Levi discussed the "Bristol" tattoo he got on his ring finger. "Maybe it wasn't the smartest thing?" Tyra teased. "No," Levi responded, "I wouldn't recommend it," adding that he would probably get something over it.

Further into the show, Levi's younger sister Mercede, who's been a vocal defender of her brother since his split with Bristol, explained "Bristol's jealous of me because Levi and I are so close. I mean, I got his name tattooed on me." Tyra asked "What does that stand for, the bond you guys have?" Mercede responded, "Yeah..." before Tyra observed "You all like to do names on tattoos!"

What do you think of sibling name tattoos: are they sweet or strange? Watch the video and vote in the poll below.

I will be happy when the tat phase is over. Maybe a tat with your siblings name on it if they had died or something but otherwise it is weird.

maybe she just really likes her 501s :)

Sibling tats are not that uncommon, (tho I think tattoos are a little un-chic) look around and inquire among the young you will find quite a few family names. It shows solid sibling support, and in this case I think Levi needs it.

Is her name a typo?

Supposed liberals. When did liberals get to be so judgmental over such things? This page looks more and more like the liberal elitists everyday. This is not something to be offended by.

For most, it's weird.

But Levi and Mercedes lost an older brother. This brought them closer together and they may feel the fragility of life more than others. So for them to have tattoos of each other's names doesn't seem so odd ot me. It is a symbol of how close they are as siblings.

That is inappropriate. She should have waited until Sarah shot him from a helicopter.

Alaskans are a breed apart, apparently ... wait ... did I use "breed" inappropriately there?
09:35 AM on 04/09/2009
i think you used "breed" "in" the right context.

wait. strike that. reverse it.

My completely speculative theory - the tattoo originally said "LOVE", but the relationship that prompted it ended. Rather than get the tattoo removed, she had the O and the E altered so she could claim it was for her brother. (Maybe altering a tattoo is cheaper and/or less complicated than removing it altogether? I don't know; I've never had one.)
