WHITE LAKE TOWNSHIP, Mich. — The storm that dumped almost 8 inches of snow on parts of Michigan has been blamed for the deaths of four people in traffic accidents.

Michigan utilities said about 13,000 customers were still without service Tuesday, down from a peak of about 121,000 during the storm Monday.

Snowfall continued Tuesday in parts of Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York state, with accumulations of more than a foot possible in some spots by Wednesday.

Police in western Pennsylvania report numerous traffic accidents.

The highest reported snow accumulation Monday in Michigan was 7.8 inches in Oakland County's White Lake Township.

The National Weather Service said 6.1 inches of snow fell Tuesday in Ohio's Broadview Heights southeast of Lake Erie.
