This is updated from our previous post, which was based on the most recent official compilation from the state Board of Elections.

I am ashamed that I was once a Republican. All these delay tactics are embarrassing and so detrimental to our Nation.

Here's hoping for another democrat to be elected, while the party of "no" dies on the vine.

No matter how this race ends up the republicans should be worried.

This district has historically been a SAFE republican seat, with many more registered republicans than democrats.

Murphy (the democrat) was a late comer to the race and an unknown, so for the race to be this close, and with Murphy currently in the lead, this should send a clear message to the republicans that their STALE AND FAILED POLICIES are a thing of the past, and is failing to resonate with the voters.

So no matter how this turns out the REPUBLICANS ARE THE LOSERS.

I wouldn't think so since the battle will have no impact on the balance of power in the House.

Oh great another case the GOP can take to the supreme court - however, the only good thing that comes out their fighting the voters is they are spending so much cash and energy on these little fights, it means less they will have in 2010

He's a registered Blue Dog. His victory means nothing but more obstruction.

Don't worry the GOPERS will take it to the Supreme Court before they will say Uncle. That's how they work.

I heard that there are 75,000 MORE Republicans than Democrats in that district. Do the math!!
Let's hope 2010 is this good!!

They are leaving the party and once those with more intelligence leave who's left? The Limbaughs, Hannities, Palins and Bachmann's. The wheat is being separated and the chaff is what's left the gun obssessed, religion obsessed and just plain in sane in the brain.

The Republicans must be in a hissy fit! Between Franken and this, I wonder how they will try to spin these races? Give it up, boys, your goose is cooked!

This nail-biter is Paterson's fault. He shouldn't have replaced Hillary Clinton with Kirsten Gillibrand. New York is a Democratic majority state (Obama 4,769,700; McCain 2,742,298 in the 2008 presidential election). Why appoint a pseudo-Republican representative from a semi-Republican district as a senator for a Democratic majority state?

One of the many bone-headed decisions of Gov. Patterson. He should have tapped Andrew Cuomo. Spitzer never should have resigned.
