Baracknophobia: Hannity, Bachmann, And Beck Terrified Of Obama (VIDEO)

Huffington Post   First Posted: 5/9/09 Updated: 5/25/11

Jon Stewart

Jon Stewart took on people "speaking crazy to power last night." Rep. Michele Bachmann recently said that President Obama is going to put our children in reeducation camps, and Sean Hannity congratulated her for her crusade against tyranny. Stewart followed this clip up with a litany of moves the Bush administration made to reduce American freedom, transparency, and state's rights, and said the pair were confusing "tyranny" and "losing."

But that's not all: Andrew Breitbart went on Sean Hannity's show and blamed Obama for his kids' school using the term "Potato Day" instead of "St. Patrick's Day." Stewart pointed out that this request probably didn't come from Obama himself, and that Potato Day is much more offensive than St. Patrick's Day.

These men are terrified of Obama? Yeah, right! That's why they spend 99% of their time calling him out on his stupidity. Terrified? I freakin' doubt it.

It doesn't matter that we , the dems, have consolidated power. smashing republicans for their shallow double standards will never go out of vogue!!
08:44 AM on 04/12/2009
If there is any poetic justice, these 3 stooges will come back in another life,
doing a job that they do best.....shoveling horse manure.
08:30 AM on 04/12/2009
Fact of the matter is, this calls for a miracle breakthrough in surgical accomplishments.

For if science could succeed in merging these 3 textbook defined horrific idiots,
and manage to create 1 {just one}, rational, intelligent, sensible, functioning brain.........

Well, I'd certainly call that a miracle medical procedure, astonishing to all mankind.

"Speak Crazy to Power" - it just doesn't get any better than that.

Anybody who dismisses Stewart -- or his commentary -- as "just" a comedian or "stupid" either is way down the IQ scale (which is limitation for which they deserve no criticism) or one of the ignorant, bleating NeoCon sheep.

Stewart might use satire better than anyone currently on TV (OK, Steven, maybe it's a tie) and uses the video record, among other media, to put the lie to the worst of the right-wingnuts so effectively, that they pee all over themselves in the process of trying to keep their spin going.

You bet your a$$ that they're afraid of him. Funny thing about bullies; they're so insecure about their own intellectual (or other) inadequacies that they don't -can't - take the risk of acknowledging them. Oh, sure, they'll say "I could be wrong" or throw off some other self-deprecating comment to suggest they are "fair" or "balanced," but don't kid yourself. Real introspection doesn't solicit or need the acknowledgment or approval of others.

Exactly. He's a weapon they can't hope to replicate on their end. They don't and can't muster for themselves his use of self-deprecation.

Delicious to watch.

And, bonus, I met him once and he was a super nice guy.

Bachmann especially is so far off the edge it's hard to believe that even her conservative district will re-elect her next time.
I think she must be auditioning herself for a right-wing talk show gig. There's good money to be made appealing to what's left of the lunatic fringe.
Either that, or perhaps a stint as "political anal-yst" at FOX.
07:44 PM on 04/11/2009
Either gig probably pays a lot more than Congress. Done honestly (or, for a true minority of "celebrity" politicians) American politics ain't the gravy train so many people think.
07:55 PM on 04/11/2009
Oops, again. Should be "(. . . or, EXCEPT for a true minority of "celebrity" politicians) American politics ain't the gravy train so many people think."
03:06 PM on 04/11/2009
This abberation was first mentioned here http://polyblog123.blogspot.com/ It's called BOFS, Barack Obama Fear Syndrom... It first showed up on FOX (big duhh there) and has spread to saturate the pitiful remains of the Grand Ol' Party.
And btw, why doesn't the Navy just sub the pirate job out to the Israelies? They'll get it done. The incompetence of the Republicans still saturates the government.
12:19 PM on 04/11/2009
It's amazing how you have to make this stuff up just to have something to write about. The only things Republicans fear about Obama is the destruction that his economic policies will have on this country if allowed to take hold. Other than that, he has nothing substantiative he has accomplished to fear.

If there had been a good economy when Obama was elected, your statement might have some merit. Remember 8 years of Bush pushed the economy into the dumps. You see, that alone is enough to show you that may explain the vast numbers of Republicans like me who voted for Obama . The sorry record of Bush had been cheered only by the ditto-head, etc. Now it is time for Bush supporters to understand that the facts are out and few (33%) approve of his administration.
01:24 PM on 04/11/2009
I think there's a comment in this thread in which there's propaganda against Obama as a Dictator

I don't know whether or not the poster was a Republican or not but nor do I know that about every person speaking against Obama in Jon's segment.

So generalizations about what Republicans fear about Obama must be necessarily wrong. In other words, you simply cannot speak for every Republican when it comes to what they fear or to any other matter
01:03 PM on 04/11/2009
The things that Republicans fear is continually giving up their rights and business to the government and gov control.

Once you give the power to the Government you don't get it back.

Why werent they more afraid of George W and Dick Cheney then? Seems they have selective fear.
11:18 AM on 04/11/2009
They're just intent on ripping the country apart. We need answers and solutions. Found a good non-partisan site trying to create some unity, and optimism... www.RecoveryBracelets.com.

The time for recovery between liberals and conservatives was when Republicans had some power. They don't have that power now, and now they want reconciliation and compromise? They need to bend before we do. Instead of bending, they are finding out which way we are going then going the opposite. Republicans stand for nothing except mindless opposition to Democrats when the Democrats are in power. We need and deserve better than that.

Of course they're afraid of him. Obama sends out subliminal messages to them in his speeches. Nothing to political tho, just something about eating their children.

Hannity is a sicko dont know right from wrong Oreilly is a sexaddict ad the rest of the crep s at fox believe what they say, they as so brain washed, jon steward will take over someones job anytime he wqants it he is that good
07:22 AM on 04/11/2009
I notice a lot of Republicans giving their opinion on Huff Po. That was not the case to long ago. Is this some form of new campaign for them. Are they bent on breaking the will of the people?

What we know now is that there has not been a Republican political party for decades. What we have seen is a front for big business that care little for any human value. They, today, have no acceptable record to run on. The only thing they can run on is what the new administration is doing. More accurately, what they think is the best way to detract from their own failures.

It is strange that we have to use Jon Stewart to educate our fellow citizens in democracy and civic. Is it the rage or the stupidity that prevents the GOP from getting it ?
03:06 AM on 04/11/2009
ALOT OF THE YOUNG PEOPLE GET THEIR MATIONAL NEWS FROM JON. AT LEAST THEY ARE RECEIVING THE TRUTH. ONE CAN'T SAY THE SAME FOR FOX NEWS.
12:52 PM on 04/11/2009
Jon Stewart doesn't offer the truth. His show is a self-claimed "fake news" show.

Anyone who lets Jon Stewart or Bill Maher mold their ideologies have failed as humans capable of independant thought. I tune into both of their shows every now and then and can see how obviously slanted their coverage of news is.

If you want the truth you won't find it on T.V.
