Meghan McCain has declined to talk about Sarah Palin in the past -- even as she calls out other controversial female Republicans in her Daily Beast column. But on CNN Wednesday night, the Senator's daughter was asked if she would vote for Palin in 2012 and said she wasn't sure she could:

MARTIN: Let's talk about Governor Sarah Palin. She's still in the news, whether it's her former -- I don't know if it was son-in-law-to-be -- talking and things along those lines.

A lot of folks are saying she should be the choice for 2012. Should she run, and will you support her running for president or for the GOP nomination in 2012?

MCCAIN: I honestly don't think that's a relevant question. I have to find out who is running in 2012, I mean, what -- there's broad personalities that happen. And it's four years from now. A lot of things can happen. A lot of things can change. And I couldn't possibly make a prediction about 2012 right now.

MARTIN: But is she someone who you could conceivably vote for because of what she stands for?

MCCAIN: I don't know. I have to see who else is on the table.

Watch:

McCain did not elaborate. Her father has been similarly coy. Asked if he would back his former running mate in 2012, John McCain said he wanted to wait and see who else was running.

Meghan, most of the country won't vote for Palin.

Meghan McCain's nickname, should be " I don't know."

Meghan "I don't know" McCain.

I don't know if I could vote for Sarah Palin.

I don't know much about economics.

I don't know who I'm attracted to.

Does this woman know anything? How could she have graduated from college, without having a sense of what she does know? Or did Daddy McCain just pay her way through?

If Meghan's purpose of staying in the limelight, is to lure younger voters to the Republican party, I don't think it's working very well. But oh well.

Meghan, you should've been a member of your father's VP vetting team.

What does Meghan stand for, anyway?

What are her positions on issues (including the "hot button" ones).

I don't think I've ever heard about her views on topics other than she loves the Republican party.

blah blah blah. The short answer on this question to her is a short and simple NO!

She is getting closer and closer to telling us what she really thinks about Sarah Palin. I wonder why she is holding back.

Dear meghan,
Get over yourself, you are only one vote. I'll vote for Palin and we'll cancel each other out

Ms McCain appears to be about as articulate and informed as her father's former running mate. Maybe they could run together...

Meghan could never vote for Sarah Palin for the President of the United States. Meghan is too intelligent.

She doesn't go very deep.

She says the problem with the GOP is their message. She then says that she doesn't think the Democrats have a better message, they just package it better.

So... is it the message or the packaging? We all know the answer. It's the packaging. That's all she ever talks about. If there were more young hot guy in the GOP and they could be a "cooler" party, she would be fine with it.

And she says the Democrats were the same after Kerry lost, which is not true, and that Obama then "came out of nowhere." Actually Obama burst upon the national scene at Kerry's convention and never left the scene after. Kind of like what the GOP is trying to do, unsuccessfully, with Jindal.

While I agree with what you are saying, I'd hardly say Jindal burst onto the scene. It's more like he was thrust onto the scene.

Agreed. That's why I said that the GOP was trying to replicated the Obama phenomenon with Jindal, but they were unsuccessful, because you can't duplicate something like that. Especially not with Jindal.

Meghan claims that the democrats' message isn't better than the republicans, they just package it better. Finding no difference besides branding almost sounds like a 3rd party criticism of the similarities between the two major parties - perhaps Meghan is a socialist...! But seriously, the republicans should probably prioritize disassociating themselves with racist, bigoted, and hypocritical people/ideologies (Allen, Thurmond, Craig, Vitter, et al.) over learning the internets.

Besides, the internet's not like the sword in the stone - if you wield it, you will be awesome - but more like the Snow White queen's magic mirror - if you suck, it will let you know.

She's not a very good republican if she can't say what the difference is between the parties.

Surprise, surprise. This is not news. Sarah Palin would not even be known if HRC would have won the Democratic nomination or if Obama had chosen her for VP. McCain and company threw Sarah Palin in the race hoping that women were just stupid enough to be so angry that Obama didn't pick Hillary and that they would switch over to McCain. McCain didn't even know SP --- if he did, she would not have been running with him. Yes she excited the Party, but in the end she incited the Party and should take 50% of the blame for the lost. Unfortunately for SP, she really believes she qualifies to be running in the big leagues. The McCain's know better.

Ooops.
