Rush Limbaugh Picks His GOP Favorites: Palin, Sanford

For Democrats, it doesn't get much better than this: three of its favorite targets brought together during one Fox television segment.

During an interview Wednesday with Neil Cavuto, conservative radio king (and prime partisan target) Rush Limbaugh was asked to name his favorite "up-and-coming Republicans." Limbaugh's answer: two leading potential Republican presidential candidates in 2010 (and also prime Democratic targets).

"I -- I like the kind of things I am hearing out of Governor [Mark] Sanford from South Carolina," Rush said. "I have always admired Governor [Sarah] Palin. I don't think people have any idea what it's like to walk in her shoes, after what she has been through with the media coverage. But she doesn't back down."

As for the rest of the GOP, Limbaugh wasn't too effusive with praise. "Too many elected Republicans right now are just in fear, Neil, of being criticized, of opposing the Obama administration," he said. "You know, it's - it is a very special historical time. We're not -- we're not really to go - to be too vocal about opposing this, which I don't subscribe to at all. I mean, liberalism is liberalism, and it is to be defeated and to be opposed every time it's -- it -- it pops up. And, so I -- I have -- I'm the de -- you know, if I am a leader, then it's de facto, because the elected Republican leadership hasn't yet decided to speak out."

Well, we all remember how well his campaign for Hillary worked out. Rush Limbaugh is nothing but hot air; no substance, no accomplishments. "It is not the Critic who counts..."

As far as I can tell, the GOP is fractured into about 10 different pieces, each one as different as the next. And they all have such big egos, or on missions from God, so good luck with any one of them pocketing their swollen head to follow someone else so the party is behind a united ideology. The next two elections (2010 and 2012) are going to be fascinating to watch as the GOP eats itself alive. They're gonna Whig out!

Why did Rush choose two who are destined to fail on the national scene?

Democrats/Progressives have to continually press the issue that Rush Limbaugh is the head of the Republican Party. Whenever Michael Steele is brought into a discussion, he should be addressed as "Micheal Steele, Rush Limbaugh's subordinate ("said or did")...". This tag can also be applied to Conservative members of Congress. By playing the Rush card, Republican/Conservative members of Congress can be marginalized to the point that the 2010 election will result in an absolute Senate marjority for Democrats.

I caught some of Larry King's recent interview with Michael J. Fox and was reminded of how truly reprehensible Limbaugh is. May he and Ms. Palin live happily ever after in their mean little world.
