Anderson Cooper: "It's Hard to Talk When You're Teabagging" (VIDEO)

Anderson Cooper had David Gergen, the director of the Center for Public Leadership, on his show last night to talk about the President's recent economic speech and what kind of response they could expect from Republicans. At the end of some serious policy talk they had this exchange:

Gergen: "They still haven't found their voice, Anderson. This happens to a minority party after it's lost a couple of bad elections, but they're searching for their voice."

Cooper: "It's hard to talk when you're teabagging."

He was, of course, referring both to the conservative anti-tax tea bagging protests and to the sex act. Cooper is the latest in a long line of cable news hosts to mock the tea baggers for their choice of terminology. Rachel Maddow had blogger Ana Marie Cox on her show last week and the pair spent an entire segment exploring the double entendres made possible by these protesters. Then David Shuster got in on the action by cracking jokes about "going nuts" and needing a "Dick Armey". Of course, not everyone finds this hilarious.

I believe Anderson Cooper meant the double entendre. My question is how did he become such an expert on "Teabagging"? Has anyone interviewed the folks that he completed his teabagging "research" with?

If its teabagging now, is poomashing next?

Considering his "left leaning" views, I would say Anderson Cooper is badly bent as opposed to straight!

"Cooper is the latest in a long line of cable news hosts to mock the tea baggers for their choice of terminology."

"THEIR" choice of terminology? That is an outright lie - Rachel Madcow was the one who started this ridiulous 7th grade toilet humor - and the rest of the peer group had to follow, like any self respecting 7th grader.

"The choice of terminology" for those who attended the rallies was - Tea Party.

actually the fox news reporter at the philly tea party refered to it as a tea bag party

In the 60's it was 'everyone must get stoned' boy have things changed in 50 years, now it is
"everyone must get tea bagged" --- Now that is a sexual revolution for ya'.

Even if so, don't you think they should have seen it coming? Really. (but I saw fox news tell others to "tea bag your congressman."

Anderson Cooper and CNN have sunk to a new low. This is professional journalism? Could anyone here imagine Walter Cronkite saying this? Those were apparently the good old days when journalists did their job - which was to report the news in a professional and unbiased manner.
05:10 PM on 04/17/2009
the new low that mr. cooper has sunk to can only be measured by the size of the teabag

These are the people that voted for the man that brought us in to the mess we're in....aka Bush. Were their minds on pause for the last 8 years? This is what they voted for. Even before Bush left office he was using scare tactics and started the bailout ball rolling.

They have the right to express their dismay. But it really is more a proof of their lack of grasp on reality. Their slogans, rhetoric, unseemly messages on posters did not express logical thought or mature responsibility. Instead it proved that they lack real fiscal understanding. It was in part irrational. And akin to people misdirecting their anger. They should be mad as hell at themselves for where we are. They were responsible for choosing the man who did this. It's like emotional spillover from a bad relationship. They need to punish someone for their hurt so why not the new President ?
They will never see that their simple thinking is not the way out of our present economical crisis. We don't have the luxury of time . Bush spent the legacy of the future generations and knew it as he did so. This is not a "boo boo" that will go away so easily.

So Tea Baggers of America try the other tea bagging. You might like it. Write a word to Bush thanking him for his good stewardship of our country. But whatever you do ,think, research , get a better picture of what's going on.
