Fox Host Wonders If Obama Administration Will Send 'Spies' To Tea Parties

Today, the Department of Homeland Security released a report on the growing influence of radical right-wing extremists. On Fox News this afternoon, guest host David Asman willingly tied the Fox-promoted, lobbyist-funded, "grassroots" tea party movement to such right-wing radicals, and suggested that the Obama administration might send "spies" to the tea parties to track extremists:

I'm looking at the report and it says, among other things, that the federal government is going to begin gathering information on right-wing extremist activity in the United States. Does that mean they're going to be sending spies to these tea parties?

Their outrage is so funny considering that they (fox "news") are the ones who have been inciting this type of right wing violence. They like to get all of the attention that they can and then cry that they are being victimized by the Obama administration. I'm sure that some of them are legitimately concerned that they are going to get caught trying to commit some crime though.

How does one "spy" on internationally videoed/bl­ogged/radi­oed loony tune gatherings of the people in the tin foil hats? Does that mean watching these mobs on tv - say on fox - is "spying"? Hmmm. From where I sit [and it's raining outside of where I'm sitting, so I don't think I'll be going anywhere], "spying" and "infiltrating" mean walking over to the mob and standing there with them. So which ones are the spies and which ones are the one percent who might qualify for a tax hike?

He doesn't need spies because these protests are insignificant compared to other protests I've seen recently (ie the protest against Prop 8). These are just people that are believing what they are fed by Faux News and Limbaugh, they don't look up the facts for themselves.

The Republican party, ever since Reagan, has been masterful at persuading the American working man to vote against his own best interests and for the rich and privileged Republicans. The Tea Party "movement," supported by Republican lobbyists and the usual right-wing billionaires, and shamelessly promoted by Fox News is merely a continuation of that.

They do not mind their taxes though, and actually are philanthropists, especially Bill Gates. They don't cry and hide their billions as if 100 billion dollars won't suffice to get by. Dems actually realize people bought things and that made them rich, not the invisible boot strap money tree. They don't mind sharing or helping. Wow, and Gates tries to help others in other countries that are in need. Get your rethugs to do that instead of putting 10 million dollars into a horse stable.
