Perry Secession

Dallas Morning News:

In a sharp rebuff of Gov. Rick Perry, the Senate on Thursday tentatively voted to accept $555 million in unemployment aid from the federal economic stimulus plan.

Senators voted 22-9 in favor of a bill by Sen. Kevin Eltife, R-Tyler, that would authorize state officials to receive the stimulus money to shore up Texas' trust fund for unemployed workers.

It seems like Perry knows he will not beat Bailey-Hutchison in the next elections so he is angry at that, but what he doesn't know is that he has just delivered Texas to the Dems. I am loving it.

Thank you Perry! You've just tipped the entire state of Texas to what the GOP has planned... and to your surprise, most of them rejected it.

Perry may have singlehandedly delivered the entire state of Texas to the Democratic party for the next few generations.

Perry is being challenged by a member from his own party for Governorship .... only when these folks are out of power or being challenged by their own party do you see them acting like conservatives& applying to the ultra right-wing of their party ....

Recently at a job fair in Dallas over 10,000 people showed up for what amounted to 200 to 250 jobs. It seems everybody knows somebody who is unemployed or underemployed. Perry won't even through them a life line to starve off foreclosure. Way to go Rick... won't be long til your voted out of office so you can feel what its like to be unemployed.

Texas seems to be getting back in touch with their inner American.

Pretty soon, Texas will be a blue state. Hatred, tired rhetoric, and hypocricy only got the GOP so far.

If people only realized how badly we have let these Texans harm our entire nation they would be more against them than Wall St...

bwahahahahahahaha!
Its too bad everyone thinks Dubya is from Texas... that is his effect on our perspective regarding Texas.... Perry stuck his foot in his mouth and, in typical GOP fashion, has to find some way to make it go away....

The politcal fall out from aligning with the GOP is clearly dangerous, possibly fatal to GOP members... go figure....
