Family Guy Pot

HuffPost's own Ryan Grim did an excellent piece today on the origins of 4/20 and why it has become the highly celebrated "National Weed Day." Something tells us the folks at "Family Guy" didn't need to read it to get jazzed about the holiday.

Last night they did an episode entitled "420," in which Brian, the dog, lead a campaign in Quahog to legalize marijuana after being arrested for possession. He gave an impassioned speech about the topic in the local park then realized a big musical number was a better way to recruit stoners.

Set to the tune of "Me Ol' Bamboo" from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, "Everything Is Better With A Bag Of Weed," is fun for the whole family!

Legalize and tax it and use the money for rehab and not jails.

thank you family guy!! its about time for this subject to become more mainstream... especially since 40% of Americans have smoked weed!!!!

I didn't realize State Farm Insurance supported legal weed.

First The Simpsons. Then Beavis & Butthead. Then South Park showed up and I didn't think it could get any better...

...until Family Guy came along. Brilliant beyond belief and I would pay to sit in on just one writing session. You KNOW that room is smokier than Spicoli's van! :)

South Park is 100x better than Family Guy in terms of writing and creativity.

Family Guy is funny though, no doubt.

False. South Park is no longer funny. They sacrifice humor for cohesion and story. No thanks I don't watch cartoons for dry satire that force parallel circumstances as an excuse for humor

Family Guy is eons above South Park. South Park is crude while Family Guy has comedic genius.

I agree! LoL

My heart is still with the Simpsons episode: Especially with Homer singing "Smoke on the Water"

Family Guy rocks - but happened to American Dad? That show blows.

Here's a coincidence: the last time I got stoned I watched Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang and thrilled to the Nazi subtext.

This cartoon needs to be shorter. The smokers lost interest and went upstairs to the kitchen for a snack before Mom gets home from work.

Oh the old cliche that people who smoke weed, are nothing more than losers living in a basement. You'll have to excuse the last three Presidents, and the most successul Olympic athelete of all time. He's too busy cleaning out his parents basement to notice your ire. Or so I've been led to believe.

You can't prove that by me; I watch 3-hour movies when I'm in that altered state and I LOVE THEM.
