Miss California Gay Marriage

Access Hollywood:

Her opinions on same-sex marriage may have cost Miss California the Miss USA crown on Sunday night -- but in an interview with Billy Bush for "The Billy Bush Show" and Access Hollywood on Monday morning, Carrie Prejean revealed that her sister is a gay rights activist.

"My sister is a second lieutenant in the Air Force and she is a gay rights activist," Carrie told Billy.

Her sister, she added, is not gay.

Perez Hilton is the new leader of the Gay Movement, this ought to send them back to the stone age.

This is great. :D

Check out the GOP in 2012. This was brilliant.

Here's an example:

President - Ms. America-Runner Up, Carrie Prejean: The GOP has realized that they have no substance, so they go for show. Plus, the Republicans came in 2nd in 2000, so they are hoping lightning will strike again with another loser.

to comment on the Miss USA pageant, I felt her comments on Gay marriage was contradicting.First she said we live in a country that is okay with, but then says in my country I believe marriage is between a man and a woman. However I did not agree with the jugdes comments either calling her a stupid bitch, won't give him any pionts either, and defeats the cause.Simply put they were both odd balls...

Now when it comes to homosexuality, a trait a person is also born with, just like your skin color, and something science is coming closer and closer to pinpointing as genetic / developmental and NOT environmental, then people are all of a sudden entitled to oppose it and it should be simply classified as "their opinion"???

GOD CREATED MAN AND WOMAN... HE DID NOT MAKE A MISTAKE.IF YOU WERE BORN A MAN, THEN YOU ARE A MAN.. IF YOU WERE BORN A WOMAN.. THAN A WOMAN...EVERYTHING ELSE IS :
I FEEL THIS WAY SO IT MUST BE SO. (WRONG)

GOD CREATED SMALL-BREASTED WOMEN. HE, NOT SHE, DID NOT MAKE A MISTAKE. IF YOU WE'RE BORN WITH SMALL BREASTS, THEN YOU HAVE SMALL BREASTS. IF YOU WE'RE BORN WITH CROOKED TEETH, THEN YOU HAVE CROOKED TEETH.

THIS IS MY RELIGIOUS VIEW. AND NO, "RELIGIOUS VIEW” IS NOT A EUPHEMISM FOR "PERSONAL OPINION."

Now that Perez admitted Ms. California may have lost bc of her answer, the producers of the pageant should do the right thing & give justice to a clear victim of bigotry.Apparently Perez gaver her a low score she never recovered. The fact she made it to Number 2 clearly shows the other judges gave her high scores for her honesty. I say, remove the scores given by the BIGOT Perez & let's see who won

I am gay myself & I don't think bigots like Perez will advance the gay cause. It's bigotry that is the bigger problem bc that is the cause of gay hate crimes (gay marriage isn't my cause anyway, I have a straight boy fetish & if I can't imagine myself having sex w/ a gay guy, how can I marry them? )

The man shouldn't have asked the question. This is a beauty pageant for goodness sakes. But kudos to her for answering it truthfully and not "politically correctly." I would have voted her the crown for being honest, such a rarity these days.

Thanks Mr. Hilton for giving the right something to point out as what happens when you disagree with gay marriage. This did not help our cause at all. You have moved us back.

And thanks for making a martyr out of this woman

More people support same-sex marriage than do the objectification of women in "beauty" pageants.

Why is there a controversy here?

She was asked to give her opinion. She gave it. Some of the judges didn't like her opinion. So she didn't win. Big deal.

This is America. You have the right to express your opinions. Other people also have the right to disagree with your opinions. And if you aspire to a position that requires you to be liked by everyone (whether that be politics or beauty contests), you need to be very diplomatic in the expressions of opinions you have that might upset people. On the other hand, if you believe so strongly in something that you're not willing to soften it, then be proud of what you believe in and accept the conseuences.

As is usually the case here, Conservatives are trying to have it both ways. They want this woman to be able to express her opinion, but have absolutely no consequences befall her for having an opinion that is offensive to the judges. If they don't like the criteria the judges use, let them start their own Conservative beauty pageant.

Dam mit CaLaWyer, we can't have another Conservative Beauty Pageant for another 3.5 years, when it's time to choose another VP candidate.

The woman answered the question based on how she feels. What is wrong with that? I voted against Prop 8 and I laugh at how people use the "sanctity of marriage" argument, but I also think Miss California has a right to her opinion and good for her for sticking to her guns. Personally, I don't understand why the opinion of a beauty pagent contestant is so important. Unlike Mr. Hilton, I don't really care what she thinks.

Although, our family and friends have varying opinions on the topic of gay marriage, we would never disparage each other. Everyone is entitled to their OWN opinion and I must commend Miss California for standing by her beliefs. She has been interviewed on news outlets and hasn't called Perez Hilton any names. She said that she will pray for him after she found out some of the names that Perez has called her. Perez Hilton, on the other hand, has called this woman names and has totally disrespected her, which is uncalled. So, therefore if I were for gay marriage I definetly wouldn't want Perez Hilton to be my spokesman for it!

who cares about beaty pageants anyway. Can we have male beauty pageants? As a female, i would prefer to look at some men and their accomplishments than looking at women. If I want to see a beautiful woman i can just look in the mirror.

I believe we have the Mr. Universe competition, though for the life of me I can't think of another one.

Of course, now that I remember that the Governator won one of those, maybe I should really start paying attention to the socio-political leanings of beauty pageant contestants.

When one's opinion spreads INGORANCE and HATRED (why do I use these terms to describe the opposition, you ask? B/c that is precisely what the opposition spreads, by deeming homosexuals "sinners" or "second-class citizens" and depriving them of their rights as human beings), then why is it people are so insistent it is their "right" to share it? If this was a racially-charged opinion, which held no merit, only opinions based on stereotypes and sometimes based on nothing at all but fear or hatred, would you still insist they have the right to share their opinion on a National Forum? Why should an ignorant person have the same rights as the rest of the population? Ignorance can lead to hatred and violence, homosexuality only seems to yield that from those who oppose it. The state of someone's ignorance can change, skin color, or sexual identity and/or orientation cannot. On the other side of the spectrum, by allowing gay marriage, such actions would neither hurt nor change anything for their heterosexual counterparts, nor would it spread any kind of negativity? Who cares how religion chooses to define marriage, marriage has it's own definition under the court of law, and it comes with many benefits which include tax breaks, legal kinship, etc. and those rights should belong to every citizen and (at least) legal residents of this country.

For those who oppose, please tell me, how is YOUR MARRIAGE specifically, threatened by two same-sex people getting married?

--------------------------

I oppose gay marriage. My views isn't the result of hatred towards gays. My view isn't due to the fact of my marriage being "threatened" by gay marriage. My view is in protection of the sanctity of marriage. Some may disagree and call us (Christians) names and throw insults. True Christians don't hate people who are different or people who choose to sin. However, we respect you to have the opinion you do, while disagreeing with you.

So with no ill will towards anyone, I diagree......

You may not personally "HATE" homosexuals, but INSISTING THAT HOMOSEXUALITY IS A CHOICE IS still spewing ignorance which may lead a more hateful and/or violent person to act or react to homosexuality in less so-called "Christian" ways, and it can validate this person's violent actions or hateful opinions. And, it continues to deprive homosexuals of their rights as human beings in all 50 states.

I bet you liked it when the same ignorance was prevalent with regards to your race, and you were deemed a second-class citizen and therefore did not have the same rights as the rest of the population. Guess what, just as skin color is something you are born with, so is your sexual identity and/or orientation.

STOP THE IGNORANCE.

How is having the federal government recognizing a couple endanger your rights as a Christian? And how do you reconcile your Christianity for the other views of Christianity that are inclusive? Why is your Christianity superior to other people's Christianity?

Yes, the would, as long as those negative opinion doesn't include groups or nationalities they themselves are a part of or favors.

Sad isn't it..
