Billy Bob Explains Crazy Radio Interview: "I Do That All The Time" (VIDEO)

Billy Bob Thornton went on Kimmel Tuesday night and explained his terrible Canadian radio interview from two weeks ago that became a YouTube sensation for his evasive, monosyllabic and often bizarre answers.

At the time Thornton was on tour with his band, and did not want to talk about his acting career, which he says the interviewer had been told.

Asked about the interview, Thornton told Kimmel:

"The fact that that was news was astounding to me, but it gave hump back geeks all over the world something to do for a couple days days... I do that all the time! It's not the first time...

"This woman said something she wasn't supposed to say, and I said I received signals from Venus through a metal plate in my head... I told a DJ to kiss my ass, that's all that happened."

Following the radio interview, Thornton's band canceled their Canadian tour.

Are all subsequent interviewers of BBT to ask "Is it all right if I mention you were an actor?" at the beginning of the interview. It worked so well for Jimmy Kimmell to stroke BBT so gently. It looked like they really both enjoyed it.

Oh yeah ... the guys in the band could really play. Billie Bob is by far the weakest link ... terrible singer and almost up to being a mediocre drummer. Hence the overall sound of the band was very bland.

The guys in the band ... ya gotta feel sorry for these poor blokes. They wound up with this loser who basically threw them all under a bus for his own Ego.

Billy Bob ... all self-important ... all ego ... all for just himself.

The DJ, Canadians and Willie Nelson ... they were gracious enough and you had to pisss on them ... in public, on camera, on air. What an A Whole.

Watched the original interview several times as I could not believe it.

What he was basically saying is: "Screw Willie Nelson, Canada, Diplomacy and Manners, America and especially screw my bandmates who probably have mouths to feed and house payments. I got rooms full of money and care nothing for Anyone's concerns other than Billie Bob's".

That was the gist.

The Canadian DJ was remarkably polite, very professional and pretty damned cool. Billie just doesn't give a crap about those who are not ... him. Pretty simple.

he is lying, I listened to the interview. he was a complete jerk for the entire interview, question after question, and after released a statement that he was inscenesed that she asked him a question related to his movie career. He said he wanted the interview to be as if he wasn't a famous movie star. ok, billy Bob, you wanted to be treated like every other new music group out there? Fine, here you go "NO INTERVIEW FOR YOU!". Face it, the ONLY reason you even GOT that interview is becuase you were the freakshow of the month...an­other Hollywood actor who thinks he's Bob Dylan. You aren't, you are a sideshow and pretending you aren't doesn't change the facts.

I'm confident those defending BillyBob did not actually see or hear the radio interview. The Canadian host NEVER asked him questions about his movie career, he simply mentioned as way of brief introduction that his musical guest was THAT Billy Bob Thornton, the Oscar winner. He asked ZERO questions about his acting career.

So Billy Bob is apparently not just an unbelievably rude, infantile, self-absorbed a**hole with a laughably unrealistic sense of entitlement, he is also a LIAR. It's unfortunate that Jimmy Kimmell was apparently too much of a wimp to actually call him out on this.

Everyone makes mistakes, but it would have been nice to see Mr. Thornton actually "man up" and take responsibility for his childish behavior, instead of digging the hole even deeper for himself. I've lost a lot of respect for this guy.

When Billy Boob's latest reincarnation of his public personae fails and he looks like the self-indulgent jerk he is, as a last defence he goes to the "Oh, I was just putting everyone on" defense of his being impolite to his host and audience. How did this guy ever make a dime in entertainment? There are literally tens of thousands with more talent who go unnoticed while Billy Boob gets TV appearances and studio backing. Maybe he should be made to wear that skunk he calls a toupee lower on his forehead so he looks more like the neaderthal he is.

I don't get the excitement. Everything he says makes perfect sense. Why so many negative comments ? If you don't like him, fine, but to label him as a jerk is pure nonsense. In fact he is more normal and down to earth than most of the other so called "celebrities" you would worship.

You should watch the video here on Huffpo above. He is referring to a female interviewer in Germany who asked him questions he was not supposed to answer and then replied with that Venus stuff, that's all.

Funny. He's not the least bit contrite, but simply hides behind "hey, I told them they couldn't ask me that, and they did it, so I do what I want". So by that definition, technically he's right.

Fortunately, everyone got to see what a complete creep he is.

So he'll hopefully lose some business. The only sad thing is that he's probably so rich that this is inconsequential. It's fascinating how completely insulated from reality these big stars get. Part of the brain that the rest of us have is shut right off.
