Morgan Stanley May Spin Off Trading Unit, Abandon Tenant Of Investment Banking

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- By considering the radical step of jettisoning one of its more high-flying trading units, Morgan Stanley and its chief executive, John Mack, are considering abandoning the tried-and-true model of investment banking that has evolved on Wall Street during the last two decades.
