NEW YORK (AP) -- CIT Group Inc. shares plunged Thursday after the commercial lender reported a hefty loss for the first quarter on higher credit costs, and announced plans to cut its dividend.
Shares dropped 73 cents, or 20.7 percent, to $2.78 in afternoon trading, after falling as much as 25.3 percent to $2.63 earlier in the session.
