Michelle Obama's newsstand appeal translated into above average sales for Vogue this spring. The March issue, where the First Lady wore clothes she handpicked from J. Crew and Jason Wu, sold 560,000 copies on the newsstand, just edging out their most recent best-selling issue on the newsstand in September 2008, which hit 559,000 copies.

They won't sell half as many with Beyonce on the cover. The sad fact of it is, one could just take an exacto knife, take out the story and the cover and throw the rest of it away!

Probably won't...and although I do like Beyonce, I must say this is good for black women everywhere that a professional black woman can outsell a black entertainer.

I think I have at least 30 mags with either her or him on the cover. This is one way to help the economy, put an OBAMA on the cover of a mag or newspaper.

I,too,have dozens of magazines with the Obamas,singular and plural,on their covers.
But I couldn't bring myself to shell out $5 for 300 pages of anorexic women in ugly,
overpriced clothing!
I've never bought VOGUE in the best of times,and I wasn't going to buy it now!

The Michelle Obama article ran about 3-4 pages;I read it standing at a newsstand.
Nice interview,but nothing new.

Although I regret not having it for the awesome cover,I'm OK with that decision.
It's only the first 100 days, and there will be other covers,other magazines..
