Paula Abdul Fooled By Bruno Interview

New York Magazine:

Paula Abdul called in to a radio show this morning to explain her embarrassing appearance in Sacha Baron Cohen's Brüno, which her blundering publicist approved after she was told that Abdul had been voted "Artist of the Year" in Germany, hilariously. According to the loopy American Idol judge, she was forced to sit on a gardener and she never did receive her award.

I like Paula. She's by far the most entertaining judge on the show - and the fact that she spaces out makes me pay more attention to her.

Wow, man. That SBC is like, real cutting edge. Tricking a celebrity into thinking they won an award, and then choosing Paula Abdul to be the fooled celebrity. Pure genius. It's in a category of it's own: comedy for those who still enjoy the sadism and desperate attention seeking of "Jacka$$", but feel that they're too old for the abusive physical humor now that they're in Junior High.

The craziest part is that Paula actually believed she had been named "Artist of the Year" in Germany. Is she really that totally out of touch with reality? I guess so.

For all the jokes about Paula, she worked her butt off to get where she is and at one time wasn't such a bad choreographer. Somewhere along the way though, she lost it. Now she comes off as an airhead and loads her bod with her jewelery line as if she's hawking paste on the street. Pretty tacky. She looks cheap with all that glitter on her.
